Do you / will you wash baby clothes separate form yours?

No. I use the no dye and no fragrace stuff for all of us usually b/c my son does have sensitive skin. Unless your kid has really extra-special sensitive skin, there is no reason to buy the expensive baby laundry detergent.

LOL! Hell no. I'd never leave my laundry room if I washed baby clothes separate from other clothes. I have 3 other kids under 6 so the amount of laundry I do rivals a busy laundromat. I separate colors, delicates, towels, etc.. but baby stuff gets thrown right in with our stuff.

I have been for the clothes I've bought and been given, simply because I bought All Free and Clear to use on his, and we have scented detergent for ours... Plus, he's gotten enough clothes already to have small loads of laundry just by himself! I figure when I run out of scented, I'll switch us all to the Free and Clear and probably won't care to mix the laundry once he's actually born; I doubt I'll have time to worry or care about it then!

I do so much laundry as it is! I like to do my LO's laundry last, so I'm not trying to fold and separate everything at the same time. Plus my H gets his clothes kind of dirty some days from work!

I also use dye free and scent free detergent so that was never an issue.

It depends on if his skin is sensitive. If it is, I will wash his clothes alone. I will keep DH's 'garage' clothes separate, because they get really gross and dirty and I already wash them as their own load.

I will say, we used Tide Free and Clear for awhile, but it never seemed to get the smell out. DH's shirts always mildly smelled of armpits, no matter how hot the water was (and it's not like he's a smelly guy), so I switched back to scented.

I did with DD and never got out of the habit. I will probably wash the baby's clothes with hers, but for some reason I like to keep them separate.

Sometimes if his basket is really full and it can be a complete load in itself yes, but normally no.

I informed DH that his work clothes will be getting their own basket and washed separately from the other clothes and the baby clothes. He's a carpet cleaner and between the sweat, chemicals, and truck exhaust, they get pretty grungy. I try to at least separate them into their own load but they can mingle with my dirty clothes until then. I just plan on using a free and clear brand for the laundry once baby is here. I was allergic to detergents as a kid so my mom always brought All Free and Clear so I'll probably use that. Hubby says it doesn't work for his clothes so we'll probably stick to Tide for his. Best thing about living in an apartment complex that has no washer/dryer in it, is the laundry room

. You can do all your loads of laundry (mostly 3 a week) at one time

. Sometimes when we do it all (towels and clothes at one time), we're taking up all 6 of the good washers (not the front load washers, those are only good for the blankets

) but it all takes the same amount of time to wash and dry

. Two hours of the day and it's all done

Yes, not because of detergent though. When I washed SDs cloths with ours, our clothes always got ruined. I still can't figure it out, there would be stains with multiple bright colors on our clothes, maybe the colors ran from theirs onto ours? Now SD2 constantly leaves stuff in her pockets and I can't catch it all. Thirdly, they fold their own clothes so its easier for everyone to separate. If LOs stuff doesn't make up a full load then I'll probably wash with ours but otherwise separate. Its cheaper to replace a kids shirt than DHs work clothes.

Yes, but I just throw all of DSs stuff in one load. I wash in cold with regular detergent and always have. He has never had any sensitivity issues. I don't always buy the same kind of detergent either. When this peanut arrives, I will probably wash the boys stuff together and separate DHs and mine as per usual.

I only wash the NB stuff separate. After that it all goes in together., We use Tide Free and Clear and have no issues.

No way, it's a waste to me. My laundry limit for the week (other than CD's) is 2 loads: lights and darks. Linens get done when I run out.

Absolutely, or at the most, with whites. I don't want dingy baby clothes, and I will be using a milder soap for LO's clothing. Again, diapers will be washed separately as well for similar reasons.

I'm planning to wash the LO's clothes separate from ours because I don't think I wash our clothes frequently enough and the LO would run out of clothes . I'll probably throw some of our clothes in with hers to make a full load of laundry, but I'll definitely keep them separate in the hampers so that her clothes don't get lost in the shuffle.

You should try adding a little bit of vinigar to his wash. It helps with smells and to sanitize but not alot or you have to do an extra rinse

Yes. Because I am greatly annoyed by sorting clean clothes and baby clothing is so small that it can get lost/stuck ANYWHERE.

We all use the same F&C detergent (either purex or kirklands), so if something gets tossed into a "wrong" load then it's not a big deal.

Also, all baby socks get washed in a lingerie bag because your washing machine may try to eat them. Unfortunately, washing machines are not made to eat socks and often choke and die on them. Lingerie bags are your friend.

I did for a while, but I always just used regular dye free fragrance free detergent.
