last night around 6 Noah started screaming like he was in pain, that lasted for about  1.5 hours until he fell asleep and nothing helped him feel better until he just fell asleep. then he slept rom7:30 ish straight to 7:45 this morning not waking up to eat at all. then he ate a normal bottle as soon as he woke up but since then he is still screaming like he is in pain unless he is sleeping and he won't eat more than 2 oz.

 i called the doctor and they want to see him. but since i called them he has eaten a normal bottle and is happy....should i still take him in or cancel his appointment?  i don't want to overlook it if something is wrong but i also don't want to take him in and waste everyones time if he is ok.

    First, follow your gut.  I can't see or hear him, so it's hard to say.  That being said, when my DS screams in pain, I look to see what else is going on... Is he reaching for a particular body part?  Ears, mouth and cheeks can indicate teething.  I usually run my finger along my ds's gums bc his pain cries lately are seemingly related to teething.  If he stops crying when pressure is applied, I assess it as teething.  

    Either way, if he's in pain, doesnt have a fever, is eating normally / going to the bathroom normally and otherwise appears healthy, I give him a dose of Tylenol.  It won't hurt him to have it even if I am misreading his cries as pain cries.

    Try taking his temperature.

    Is he pulling up his knees?  My dd does this when she has bad gas pains.

    No fever, his temp is 99.1. and he isn't pulling his legs up....he is fine while he is sleeping and that seems to be all he wants to do.

    I think i will still take him in just in case, so i don't feel guilty later this weekend f he is still screaming. and if he is fine then great, no big deal!

    I don't know I think this pedi was kinda dumb....she said it could be constipation because it was over 24 hours since he pooped but she checked him out and couldn't find anything wrong so she told me to give him a little water so i gave him 1/2 an oz of water and he did poop and then he finally ate so that could have been it. but i dunno he still seems off.
