I swear DD wasn't this bad even at 5 weeks. She slept thru the night from Dec-April but got sick until June so there was frequent wakings but could easily be solved with the plug or a swig of water, but then June came and I had to start nursing her all night long for her to get any rest. It's crazy. Now, she's in our bed most of every night. It juuuuuuuust sucks. We get kicked all night long, and then she starts waking up crying? I feel like crying! She is an amazing napper - always put down completely awake and falls asleep on her own, 2x and maybe an eve nap here and there. But, she will not go down to bed on her own for anything.
You are definitely not alone. FML.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could just get him to go down for the evening but lately it takes almost 2 hours to get him to go to sleep and not wake frantically screaming. We've tried (what I feel like) is everything to no avail! One day I will sleep again is my mantra right now.

This is what keeps me going too! One day.... hopefully soon...
You definitely haven't missed the boat. We successfully sleep trained DS (without tears) at 14 months.
If you post what your issues are and what you've tried some of us might try to help you with some advice.
FWIW, I think it's pretty normal for the putting down part to take a long time at least some of the time. Sometimes I nurse DD for an hour or more before bed. But, then I don't hear from her for 11 hours, so it's all good

I posted about this yesterday on 6-9! I tried everything, then I held Maya and sang and rocked her to sleep and she slept until 5:30am! Go figure and I did the same thing last night and had the same result! Screw the "sleep training methods" lmao
