When did YOU find out the SEXES?

My ultrasound girl said that she can usually determine sex starting around 15 weeks. I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow and have an ultrasound today. I REALLY hope she may be able to at least determine the sex of ONE of them today but I doubt it. When did you find out what you were having?

Re: When did YOU find out the SEXES?

  • We found out at 16 weeks, but I didn't scream it from the rooftops until our next u/s at 20 weeks. Yes, they can sometimes tell early, but they can also make mistakes. Good luck!

  • I had an u/s done at 16 weeks and she couldn't tell.  At 19 weeks they could see very clearly and were able to tell me the genders.

  • We found out about Baby A at 18 weeks, but they couldn't get a good look at B until 21 weeks.

  • We found out at 16 weeks, 5 days. However, our were boys and they say it's more obvious than girls (at least that early)

Also we knew ours were same sex identical so we only NEEDED to see one, but were lucky enough to clearly see both.

  • What level machine will you be on?  that makes a difference.

I had an u/s at 15weeks on a level II and it was more than obvious both were boys

  • At 16 weeks we were told b/g by the tech and b/b by the MFM. We have 2 boys.

  • I found out at 16 weeks exactly.  I had an unplanned u/s and didn't even ask about the sex but the tech asked if I wanted to know and I said - don't make a guess but if you can really tell.  She said both girls (we are ID but she checked both) and was right.  I didn't buy anything though until after the 20 week u/s.

Hope you get a good shot today!

  • At 16w, we were told boy/girl. At 20w, boy/boy. The MFM also confirmed it at that time, as she won't confirm genders before 20w.

  • During our 16 week growth scan (16w3d) I believe. Using a level II machine at my MFm/high risk OB office,it was very clear. They always reconfirm it for me at every scan though.
  • We found out at 16 weeks and 6 days... I asked the technician how sure she was that it was two boys and she said "I have been staring at your boys junk for the past 15 minutes"... her words not mine. :)

  • Baby boy flashed us the goods at an u/s I had at 16 weeks. The tech had a tougher time seeing baby girl and couldn't spend a lot of time on it since I was just there for an issue I was having, not to find out the sex. She guessed girl on her since she didn't see blatant peen!

The sexes were confirmed (boy/girl) at my a/s at 18w2d by my MFM.

  • The tech at my MFM's office thought she was seeing a boy and a girl during an u/s at 14w3d, however, she said she was definitely not making an official call on that one since it was still so early. I had an u/s at 17w2d at my OB's office and the tech there confirmed that it is indeed a boy and a girl. Finally, at my 20 week a/s with the MFM, the same tech as the first time also confirmed that they are, without a doubt, b/g twins (and it was very obvious to us as well).

  • I think we found out at 16 weeks that they might be girls (the US tech told us not to go crazy buying pink just yet).  Then we had another us at 20 weeks where they said they were definitely girls.

  • At our 12 week scan, the tech was pretty sure baby B was a boy, but told us not to go out and buy any blue just yet, she said she didn't feel comfortable making a guess on baby A - not in a good position.  At our 20 week scan we learned she was right and baby A is a boy too.

  • We found out at our 20 week a/s. The tech was 100% sure that they were 2 girls. She said, with the amount of movement going on in there, she would have been able to see something bouncing around. I went in 3 weeks later for a repeat a/s and I got the tech to confirm again for me. Definitely 2 girls still. I will probably ask at every growth scan though still.

  • Both babies had their legs crossed at our 16w u/s, so we didn't find out until our 20w level II a/s. At first, the tech said girl/girl, but it turned out Baby Boy's cord was hiding his parts. We've had two more scans since then and they've confirmed boy/girl both times.

  • We don't have our A/S until almost 21w.... our OB will be doing quickie roll-cart USs at each appointment just to check heart rates and look at my cysts, but she's not going to make any gender guesses. So we have to wait another month and a half before we find out :(

Still hoping I manage to get at least one boy out of the deal lol

  • My regular sonogram at my OB's office at 17w5d showed G/G. I do have a level II at the MFM at 18w5 days because they didn't get to see everything they wanted to on Baby B, so hopefully I will get confirmation then.

  • The ultrasound tech took a guess at my 14-week ultrasound (I wasn't expecting her to, but she did). She was pretty confident about the boy, but less so about the girl. We found out that the tech was correct at our 19-week anatomy scan--we are having a boy and a girl!

  • The guessed boys at my NT scan, said at 16 weeks that it was boys and at my 20 weeks scan said girls.  I was shocked that they got it wrong before that since with boys there's something to see.

ETA - I made the mistake of telling people after our 16 week u/s since they had "confirmed" the b/b prediction.  My FIL was dying for boys so he was thrilled, and then kind of bummed when we found out it was girls.  They're wonderful and everyone is happy now, but I would suggest holding off on telling people until your 20 week u/s.

  • We found out one was a boy at 15 1/2 weeks, and go on Wednesday to see what the other one is, and I will be 19 weeks. They just get more developed the closer you get to 20 weeks, so that's why they say most don't find out until then. But since I have a sonogram everytime I go in, it's neat to see how much more they really do develop with organs and all each time. Good luck!
  • I found out the SEXES at 16w for Baby A and 18w for Baby B.

  • We got a guess around 13w (which was correct, but we didn't go shopping then) and a confirmation at 17w during a routine u/s.  The A/S was 19w where we got another confirmation.

  • We found out that it was a boy and girl 2 days ago and I'm 20 weeks. Of course, we also just found out we were having twins.  I had not had any u/s yet so this was the first.  We thought we were just having one and weren't sure if we wanted to know the sex.  We asked him to write it down.  Then he told us there were 2 so we just went ahead and found out the sexes.  I was so shocked that there were 2.

at 16w and a few days we were told both boys.   And they've been boys ever since.

  • At 17 weeks the MFM said he was "hallucinating" that one was a girl. The other had the cord between the legs so he couldn't see anything. At the a/s yesterday (19weeks, 6 days) the tech told us two girls.

  • Well, we're 14 weeks 6 days today and after the ultrasound, we found out... TWO BOYS! Time to pack all my pink stuff away. :(:)
  • I never wanted to find out their sexes but the tech could tell at 20 weeks. I found out at 23 weeks at my gender reveal/birthday party. I let my mom and MIL find out their sexes and MIL spilled the beans to DH. So I found out the way I wanted to.

  • we found out when i delivered them -- bc we wanted it that way! :)  but, i'm pretty sure it was very obvious at 13 weeks that baby a was a boy. i was pretty sure that i saw his peanut between his legs, but at that point kept telling myself it could have been the cord. once he was born, i knew it wasn't the cord i saw.
