Read any good books lately?

I love to read, but don't have nearly enough time.  I do want to read a good book on sleep and have been looking into The No Cry Sleep solution or Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby.  Does anyone have any experience with these or any other good sleep books?

How about any nonbaby books?  Anything good you are currently reading?  I'm still trying to get into the Divergent series.

Re: Read any good books lately?

  • I havent much time to ready lately either and it's one of my favorite things to do.  I try to read when I am pumping which gives me about 15-20 minutes.  I am currently on the 2nd book of the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy and it is AWeSOME! Not AT ALL my normal kind of book but I am loving it! :)

  • I've read both the No Cry Sleep Solution and Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby. I liked pieces of each, and we've tried to use what we like of each book and take the rest with a grain of salt. After hearing a lot of negative things about Healthy Sleep Habits (that it's just a CIO book), I'm really glad I read it for myself. Like 'No Cry', Weisbluth offers many suggestions, including CIO, but stresses that CIO is not a necessary solution for everyone. He also explains the sleep cycles of infants, which I found very helpful. I did roll my eyes at some of the warnings he has in the intro.

As for non-baby books, I'm reading "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin, and re-reading "The Shining".....kind of an odd combination I guess!

  • I haven't had time to read much either. I read the first Hunger Games book right before I had the baby and enjoyed it. I just started the second one and am liking it so far.

  • I read while I nurse her and she's sleeping. I just finished the 2nd book in the Fifty Shades of Gray trilogy. I read both of them in probably 10 days. Hoping to squeeze the 3rd one in before I go back to work.

  • I am reading the 2nd book in Richard Castle's Nikki Heat series. I love the show "Castle" so this is tiding me over until the new season starts.

I LOVED Bringing Up B?be. =)  I lived in france for a while and their style of parenting is SO effective and the kids there are so wonderfully well rounded. I was so happy when this book came out

Thanks for all the suggestions!  I would like to check some of these out.  If only I had more time for reading...
