I have only tried bananas...frozen and normal. It's gross but they love it! I just don't know what else to try. Also...any tips for cleaning them? I just soak and try to scrub but the seam always seems sort of dirty....blah.
Ours is dishwasher safe, so that's how we clean it - top rack, in one of those little munchkin things for bottle parts, pacis, etc.
We'd done peaches, apples, and plain old ice cubes in it. I've heard of putting frozen grapes and blueberries, and watermelon, but haven't tried that yet.
I think just about anything can go in there - the whole point is that it acts as a strainer so you don't have to worry about choking so much, so I think just about any food you want LO to try, you can use.
Just a lurker here but my DD LOVES frozen watermelon and frozen cherries in hers. It has REALLY helped with her teething and it keeps her busy while I do other things .
I soak mine in vinegar and soap immediately after use.
We've done tons of stuff, both fresh and frozen, except for bananas...they are just not worth the effort of cleaning them out. Ice cubes, mangoes, apricots, cantaloupe, peaches, kiwis, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, pears, apples, and her favorite, honeydew melon.
I've found it's best to put the feeder in HOT water immediately after LO is finished with it and let it soak for a little while before washing.
When did you start using yours? I have one it says 6+ months did you start right at 6 months or did you wait? Sorry but I was just thinking about when I should start it and I seen all the food everyone was doing. I think DD will really like it?
I was it as well as i can, then let it soak in some warm water then scrub it again and hang dry.
We put lots of things in it. her favorite is blueberries and then you stick it in the freezer for a little bit. I also will freeze any baby food i make her and put the small cube into her thing.
