When did you start cloth diapering?

My baby will be 2 weeks old on Saturday. I plan on cloth diapering and just trying to figure out when I want to start. I am thinking where we will be home all this weekend I thought I might try to do some this weekend. I am just wondering if this is to soon,

We started when DD was 5 days old. We would have started from day 1, but she was a preemie, and super small so we had to order some preemie size CD, so we just waited until those came in the mail, prepped them and jumped right in!

Its never too soon to start. It is what you feel comfortable with. A lot of Momma's here started on every day/age you could think of (before leaving the hospital, a few weeks, 2 months, 6 months, 7months 1week, 1 year even) There is no "right"age. Its all up to you.

If you are feeling overwhelmed know that it is ok, it can be overwhelming, you have a brand new baby, and here you are trying something that not a lot of women may be doing around you, but you can do it. You won't know until you try. Don't be too hard on yourself. CD has a lot of trial and error, and finding what works best for your family. Yet, you will find that once you get going, it wasn't as scary as you thought.

If you only bought one-size diapers, they may not fit yet. That's the only reason it may be too soon. I started on day 1, with prefolds and XS covers.

Do you have Newborn CDs or only the OS?

This would be a big factor. If you only have OS I can't imagine your baby fitting into them yet.

We started at 2.5 months, and DD was just starting to fit into OS diapers.

We had all OS diapers and covers, and also some smaller prefolds, but we waited until his one month birthday to start. I technically could have started sooner, because they fit him just fine.

We started at around 3-4 weeks when the small diapers and covers fit. OS didn't fit her for a few more weeks after that. Next LO I will just buy newborn diapers and start from Day 1 I think!

We started at about 5 days (would have been earlier but DD ended up in the NICU and we hadn't planned on CDing at the hospital) with prefolds and covers. Super easy!

We started at 3 weeks. DS came 2 weeks early and I hadn't ordered them yet.

We jumped in and haven't looked back.

We started when our LO was a little over a month only because I was hesitant on CD and I wanted to wait til he passed all his mecunium and his umbilical cord had fallen off.

We started when DD was 2.5 weeks old. I had planned to start about a week sooner but we had some feeding issues I wanted to get figured out before starting CDing.
