Nope... but mainly because I refuse to step into a bathing suit and I would rather not deal with the "mooing" comments when I go to the pool. Selfish I know, but LO is ok in his kiddie pool here at home. If DH wanted to take him in the pool I would love it
We did back in June. It was mostly just getting comfortable in the water. We sang songs and went after toys. We also bobbed under the water really quickly and blew bubbles. Have fun! My DS really seemed to enjoy it.
We have. It was fun, but I don't think DS got anything lasting out of it. We played with toys, walked them around the lazy river in their tummies and backs, sang songs, and played with toys some more. DS mostly just splashed.

yup. he loves being in the water. we move him around on his stomach and back, he chases toys, we sing songs, etc. they also sprinkle the kids with water and get them used to getting splashed.
Yep! We had them back in June. They were two days a week for four weeks. First, we would put our baby in the water. In our case, I would get in the pool and then do Humpty Dumpty and have her "fall" into the water. Then we would sing a few songs. The teacher would give each of us a ping pong ball and the kids that could "swim" would chase after it with Mom or Dad's help. I would hold DD and put her on her tummy so she would kick the water as I would walk to the ball. We never put her underwater just because I didn't think she was ready. When I blew in her face she would just smile at me and not hold her breath (which is what they typically do). They were so fun and it was nice to get cool after the hot days we have been having for far tool long now. I think her swimming made her bath time better. I can dump water on her head when I am rinsing her hair out and it doesn't even phase her anymore.
I didn't do it when DD1 was younger and I won't for DD2. I don't see the value in paying for it at this age, but I am signing DD1 up for a class that starts at the end of the month. They will help her get comfortable in the water, teach kicking and arm movement and how to float. She has to be able to submerge her face in water to move up to the next level.
I agree with PP that it doesn't seem worth the money at this age. I've taken DS in the pool a few times and he loves splashing around! It would be good for interacting with other Moms and babies if that was something you were looking for.

This. I probably won't do it again until she's able to actually learn/do it herself, but I thought it was valuable to learn how to interact with her in the water, how to stay safe, etc. Also it helped her to be comfortable in the water!
Our last one was yesterday. It was more just getting comfortable to the water. Learning to float on their backs and bellies, kicking their feet and splashing their hands, singing songs, playing with toys, "jumping" in the pool (I just set LO on the side and then picked him up and brought him back in). My husband is in the coast guard so getting LO used to being around water is important to us.
We go every Wednesday. We sing songs, work on kicking, blowing bubbles, going down the slide, climbing in and out of the pool, floating on his back and submersion.
Our class is newborn to 9 months. We love it. It's only 30 minutes long so it's the perfect time for his attention span. He loves the pool and totally doesn't mind getting water in his face at all. Plus he takes a GREAT nap afterwards.
