It says in the 37 week old email newsletter to limit baby's formula or breatmilk intake to 16-24 oz per day. And that if baby wants more to offer water.
I wholeheartedly disagree. If my baby is acting hungry (within reason) I'm feeding him something nutritious. He is a big boy at 23.5 pounds at 8 months and normally takes about 28 oz of formula a day.
WDYT?
Re: This week's email from the bump. :/
This. Also, my pedi told me that LO will probably drink less breastmilk at this point and that it is "awesome" if he eats 6ish oz of solids after that. Which is what he's doing. He does have a sippy cup and will drink water from it if he wants it. Mostly he just like to chew on the lid though and gets really surprised when water comes out.
exactly.
I just hope no one out there listens to the bump over their pedi.
I think it is ridiculous for them to even put that "advice" out there.
I've seen people say their Pedi say that as well but obviously you should listen to your pedi/instincts over an email. I've mostly heard people say it for formula babies though to aid in weaning them at 12m since it is better for them to be weaned as soon as possible, whereas BF babies can BF as long as they/mom wants but again this is just what I've heard from other people.
DD only eats that much anyway but on her own I don't "limit" her.
