Baby wearing with 2 month old...when can I put her legs out?

I have a Mei Tai sling and I have been wearing her in the newborn carry with her feet in. I feel like this is uncomfortable for her and would think she would like it better with her feet out. But I can't find out when you can put her legs out.

Also I have a hard time getting her straight in the carrier...it always feels like she is slouched to one side. is this normal or should I do it tighter?

  • You can do legs out as soon as they make it obvious they want it- usually around 8 weeks or so. As for the slouching... Can you post a pic? That might help with feedback.

  • You can do legs out from birth as long as baby is in the proper knees-higher-than-bum position. If the "crotch" of the MT seems to wide for baby, you can cinch it with a hair band or ribbon.
