  I had the same thought and think it seems odd I'm suppose to have this along with the name label. The facility is affiliated through a hospital so maybe that is why they require special labels, but still a bit irritating to me. Want to just be like just read the dang name!

  Our daycare puts red bands around bottles of breastmilk, they look a lot like red hair ties, then the bottles are just labeled normally with the other info on masking tape.

  Red sharpie on masking tape?

  I don't have experience with DC, but it does seem a bit excessive to distinguish the bottles as breastmilk.  Maybe because it can be left out longer than formula?  But you'd think they'd only give your child the bottle you put their name on anyway, so why should it matter if they would be over cautious with BM and formula both?

  I can understand why they'd want to differentiate - at our daycare, they toss formula pretty quick but will put BM back in the fridge and reheat for the next feeding if it's not finished - having labels to differentiate would probably help staff remember what's in the bottle - switching between teachers, shifts, etc., I'm sure it's hard for everyone to remember and know which baby's getting what.

  at applied labels . com you can get red tape (well, any color for that matter) and labels pretty cheap, and easy.

  I have labels from Name Bubbles for my DS and LOVE them.  Maybe you could choose one of their red color schemes.

   This! I LOVE our name bubbles. Didn't think about getting them to say breastmilk on them, so I just wrote it on. I bought the ones that allow you to write on and then erase and write on again. I put the date on using the eraseable pencil. I wrote "breastmilk" in permanent marker.
