The first time this happened, I went to the pedi and she said there was nothing we could do. So, when it happened again yesterday, I wasn't going to call or go in. This (Tuesday) morning, when we woke up, Connor had gook in his right eye so I called for that, thinking he may have developed some sort of eye infection. They asked me to come in, I did and since I was there, I mentioned the sleeping... They directed me to go to the hospital for 24 hour observation. The decision to come was difficult for me but after a lot of crying, calling family, and soul searching, I decided it best to at least see if they could find any reason way this was happening.
Well, we've been here now since 11am Tuesday morning and they run the basic tests to rule out infection and Connor is hooked up to a few monitors. Numbers have dipped low, including his respitory (sp?) and heart rate but they keep going back up and stabilizing. All tests so far have come up negative. (duh, I could have told you he didn't have an infection.) We are in a semi private room with another infant who I'm gathering just got out of surgery so it's not like Connor can get into a deep sleep. I'm starting to regret the decision to come because of the added stress and germs a hospital brings but I guess it's stupid of me to regret since we are here and will get to leave sometime tomorrow...or later today... We are waiting the EEG results.
I guess I'll try to get some sleep which is proving quite difficult over my neighbors monitor and constant interruptions by our socially awkward tech who keeps trying to take vitals when Connor is sleeping...
Re: Sleep apnea update-pedi sent us to the hospital (kind of a vent.)

I just wanted to let you know that DD and I were in the hospital for the exact same thing last weekend. She kept having acute life threatening events as well. If you ever want to talk, I'm here.
Oh, and she ended up being diagnosed with extreme reflux. /eyeroll

I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. I hope that you're able to get some information and figure out what's happening. Have the considered sending you home with an apnea monitor?
I only say this because Adalyn is on one, only when she sleeps at night unobserved, and it's really not that bad to deal with. GL!

I'm so sorry you're going through all this! I hope they're able to figure out what's going on with your baby boy, or at least send you home with a monitor like DrRx mentioned or SOMETHING. I know you must be really scared and frustrated, and I just wanted you to know that I'm sending good thoughts your way. Please keep updating us!
They did not even mention it... I didn't even know they had these things!! I'm going to mention it at his follow-up tomorrow. Thanks!
