Question for those of you with crawlers

in Babies: 6 - 9 Months

If your LO is crawling, did they roll both ways consistently before doing so? DS#1 & DD did, but DS#2 is looking like he just wants to pick up and go forward. He can roll both ways, but rarely rolls from back to tummy. He is almost fully up on hands and knees (but only will practice during the night...fun fun) I wonder, is rolling both ways consistently a necessary precursor to crawling?

    Lucas never was a roller. He could but chose not to. He still struggles going back to belly but can. He started crawling a week shy of six months. He is already standing and cruising so I'm guessing rolling is no longer on his to do list.

    DS did roll both ways before crawling. Once he really started rolling around, he stopped just as fast though.

    Mine never rolled.  He had the ability, but he never did it.
