Managing stress, responsibilities and relatives UGH

Between going to summer school, having some medical problems with my baby girls heart, and ending up doing the majority of the work on my own baby shower, I am needless to say stressed out major! My baby has a heart arrhythmia, we went to a specialist and found out that it is a fairly common arrhythmia and shouldn?t cause harm, but could be a sign of a more serious heart defect. This by itself was stressful enough. So as a result I had to completely cut caffeine out of my diet, which you would be surprised of how addicted you are to even just one cup of coffee a day and chocolate. So after I did that I was wiped out and going through withdrawals for a week. I also was told that I needed to start going to have stress tests done twice a week, and around 45 minutes a test not even including waiting room time, Dr. time and travel time this takes up the majority of my afternoons twice a week, though I am glad that they are monitoring her.
Its also been 105 almost everyday here in Kansas where I live, so the heat makes me horribly sick and exhausted. On top of that my in-laws, who are not always very friendly to me, are coming in to town this week for my baby shower and I am freaking out about having enough energy to get the house clean and still manage my school work and the stress tests. Is anyone else feeling horribly overwhelmed and the baby isn?t even here yet?

Re: Managing stress, responsibilities and relatives UGH

  • Yes, this whole baby making thing and preparing thing is very overwhelming so I can understand feeling stressed with everything else you have on your plate. Ask for help and take it easy!!

  • I am in total overwhelmed mode!

We have a truckload literally of stuff I want to donate to the Goodwill and it's all on my upstairs landing.  It's driving me crazy but my SO has stuff in his truck that he wants to take to the dump.

Then, we have an armoir in our living room that we want to sell and another one in our bedroom that we want to move to the livingroom.  This way there's nothing to "come down" in an earthquake and we need to make room for the bassinet.

On top of that stuff, I have my shower this Saturday, my friend's shower is Sunday and next week I have another shower and my BFF is coming from out of town and staying at my house. I'm super excited for that but don't want her to see my house a wreck like it is right now!

  • This is pretty much exactly what I am going through right now! And unfortunatly I am too big and exhausted to really do much around the house. I tried to get stuff done today, but then by 6 I was wiped out completely. I just hope I can make it through this weekend without totally crashing. I want to just enjoy the experience, but my body and mind seem to have other plans.
