Hi guys,
I go in tomorrow for my baseline US before starting 50 mg clomid for our IUI this month. So excited! After we confirm we are good to go the RE will write me a script for clomid. The nurse said I could take it anytime starting on CD 3, 4 or 5.
Why are there different start days for clomid? Is one better for more eggs vs higher quality eggs (as Dr. Google would have me believe)? I will ask my RE tomorrow, but I know you all are very knowledgeable and I am wondering what you've heard.

I've never ever heard a nurse say 'Start Clomid whenever you want." That is odd to me and I'd force them to pick a date as when you start it determines your follow-up monitoring appts.
Having said that, i always did CD 5-9
Yeah, I thought it was odd too, She said it doesnt really matter what day, but to be sure to tell my doctor when I start so he can schedule mid cycle US. I'll defintely talk with him tomorrow then! Thanks Kdg!

First two cycles I did CD5-9, the last one I O'd on CD10 so my RE switched me to CD3-7. Worked better with timing and growth, just no luck with the IUI's.
I did mine CD5-10 (this was my first Clomid cycle) and I O'd on CD16. I've wondered if I started on CD3 if I might have O'd a day or two earlier? Honestly I'm not sure.
