My coworker?s close friend recently gave birth to her baby at 21 weeks. He was born alive and lived for about an hour. Her friend was able to get some pictures of her baby that she really treasures. My coworker is hoping to get her friend a scrapbook or memory box or something where she can keep those pictures as well as cards, and other things that connect her to her baby boy. My coworker?s children are older, so she asked me for recommendations since she thought I might be more in touch with the current baby stores, etc.
Does anyone have a recommendation for something like this? My coworker just shared with me that she too lost a baby at 22 weeks and she still treasures the scrapbook someone gifted to her so many years later. I can tell this is something very important to her and I am hoping to help her help her friend.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Re: Scrapbook/Memory Box (ticker warning)
I found a memory box at Tuesday Morning, but I know some here have made their own. There is an online magazine some of us read that recently did a tutorial on how to make one type of memory box for those who are crafty: https://stillstandingmag.com/2012/06/memory-box-tutorial/
As for the scrapbook, we purchased one from Michaels and I made a book of memories of our pregnancy and photos of our daughter.
The hospital that I delivered at put together a memory box for us. As for the scrapbook, as PP said, I would try one of the bigger craft stores. They have a great selection and some really beautiful products. Even if it's not specific to this situation she might still find something that she could customize to fit her needs.
