When did you or would you have your baby shower?

I am posting this question here, because I know you ladies would know where I am coming from. My last 2 pregnancies were premies. I had my baby shower for DS#1 at 34 weeks. He was born at 36.6 weeks. We didn't have one for DS#2 and he was born at 34.6 weeks.

My MIL is hosting the baby shower in honor of finally having a girl. Is it wrong if I ask her to have it soon, like when I am at 30 weeks? I am just very nervous and anxious that I am not going to make it to the 32 week mark.

Just wanted to know, if you knew you were at high risk of having a premie, would you have your baby shower early?

I had my shower at 28w because I knew with twins there was a high risk of bed rest and delivering early. I went into PTL at 28w1d.

I never had one for several reasons but most moms expecting twins have them between 24-28 weeks for this reason I would totally do it early just in case.

My shower was scheduled at 30w5d and Henry was already here... guessing if there is something next time I'll want to do it somewhere btwn 26-28 weeks. That is crazy early!

My work kept trying to schedule a baby shower for me for my 2nd child, but they finally gave up after all of my hospital bedrest and then my maternity leave. My work was joking if I have another child that they will need to plan it earlier.

We had my baby shower at 32 weeks with DD#1 (I had her at 33 w). My mom wanted to throw me a baby shower for DD#2 at 33w, but I was put on bed rest a few days before and cancelled the party. I would ask if she could have it at 30 weeks.

I would absolutely try to schedule it on the early side, if possible. My shower was at 33 weeks, but by then I had a 3 week old baby. I had no idea that this would happen, though. It should be one less thing for you to stress about.

My shower was scheduled for 33 weeks (begged them to do it sooner, since I was very high risk of her comming early), and I had DD at 31 weeks. I never ended up having a shower because she was born in the winter, I did not want her to be arround people during RSV season and I new I would get alot of slack for not bringing her. It is not recomended for me to have more children, but if I were, I would be sure the shower was scheduled for around 27-28 weeks.

I had my shower at 29 w 5 days and had the babies 4 weeks later. I knew there was a chance I would go early as I was having twins and I actually wanted the shower earlierthan that but couldn't have it due to the availability of the restaurant and my MIL's vacation.

I had my shower two weeks after my D came home from the NICU. If I had another shower I would probably schedule it early but not until after viability.

I unexpectedly had LO at 34 wks, and my shower was the next weekend. I didn't want it to be that late anyways, but that was the only weekend that worked for everyone. It was nice to have something to focus on that first week of driving back and forth, and everyone wanted to wait on me hand and foot. I agree with PPs, you would be better off to schedule it for before 30 wks to be sure.

I never had one. No one was expecting DS to survive and I didn't want to be 'that person' that threw one for herself.

I would totally ask for it to be early! Then you can at least enjoy it as much as possible. When I had mine I was a hot mess and mad at myself for being somewhere that wasn't NICU.

I had my twins at 26 weeks. My shower ended up being a month before their original due date. I didn't want it any sooner out of fear.
