Potty Training

Getting it started

We're trying to get the potty training started. . . But I'm not sure which way to go.

First- we got a pack of pull-ups and we're always asking if DD has to go potty. She says, "Potty. . " when she's already going number 1.

Our sitter suggested that we just get the thick padded undies and let her feel how uncomfortable it is when she's wet. Pull-Ups are just like diapers so they're not really making her uncomfortable. . .

When we actually make it to the potty, she's either just wanting to flush the toilet or she'll try to push something out and then jumps down saying, "No poo-poo"

HELP!

I don't think you can expect her to tell you she has to go right away. We just put her on the potty every hour and she goes. No luck with the poop yet though.

I feel like I missed our window.... our DS is 2 1/2 and he'll tell me that he went potty in his diaper, after the fact. I think I'll just get the pull ups and just set him on the potty every hour and see what happens. The challenge is to get him to stay seated.

My mom suggested having the toddler potty in the tv room (to get him to stay seated).
