My mom's big 40th birthday is coming up and they want to go to this concert hall where one of her favorite local rock banks is playing. It's a pub like atmosphere so not like some big concert where we'd be far away. The music of course will be VERY loud.
I'll be about 22 weeks by then and my question is do you think it's ok to go? I've tried looking it up but can't really seem to get any definite answers. So really I want to know is if anyone has any experience with this or WWYD in this situation? TIA!

Re: Loud concert while pregnant?
Haha ok thanks all, I knew it was probably just my overcautious FTM side showing but thought I'd double check
And I haven't actually been to the place, but it's a sort of restaurant as well so there's definitely tables to sit at so I don't think I will have to deal with rowdy people if I just sit in the back and stay out of the action.
Thanks all!
Sorry, I just have to chime in - babies actually are sensitive to high decibel levels of sound, but a one-time rock concert is probably ok. Where you really have to be careful is when you are exposing your baby (well, and yourself for that matter) to those high levels for long periods of time on a consistent basis. I'm a musician for a living, so this is part of what our union has negotiated for our rehearsal lengths - believe it or not, orchestras can really blast even louder than rock bands when you are right on stage, so protective hearing is a must. Luckily, we have to take a break roughly every hour though, so baby should be ok. At least, that's what I'm trusting!
I think if you operated a jackhammer for a living though, you would probably need to be concerned for baby's hearing. Doesn't sound like that's the case though, unless I'm missing something, haha.
With my first pregnancy & this one I have been to many concerts pregnant (Billy Joel & 2 DMB shows with my first, 3 DMB shows with this one).
No issues!
I'm headed to a concert at the end of august. before I said I would go, i asked on here if my fellow MTB thought it was a good idea. the overwhelming response was "You're pregnant, not dead"
so go rock it sister!
