Vitafusion prenatal vitamins?

I cannot take my horse pill prenatals anymore, I am considering switching to Vitafusion prenatal, since they're gummies, the only thing is they don't contain iron, I wasn't sure if that's harmful to the baby.

Anyone taken them before?

Re: Vitafusion prenatal vitamins?

  • I take the Target brand that is the same as these. I like them a lot! I am so glad they don't have iron because during my 1st tri I took ones with iron and they constipated me badly! I read that you really only need extra iron if you are anemic, which I am not. Hope that helps.

  • I took them when I first found out I was pregnant, but after my 1st OB visit she prescribed chewable vitamins that have some iron, they are called Natachew, but I get the generic version.  They aren't so bad tasting, and they are actually small!  I haven't had any problems with them.
  • I take Vitafushion, and then try and make sure I eat iron rich food. Other prenatals make me puke like crazy. Make yourself a smoothie with some spinach or something, I wouldn't stress too much.
  • I took these only after I was taking Flinstone vitamins.  I had a hard time with morning sickness.  They taste great and my baby is fine.  I only started taking the big horse pill at six months of pregnancy.  At that time I could stand them.  I took extra calcium from Caltrate.
  • I take them and my OB is okay with it. My iron levels have been good until recently so they worked for me. Now I supplement with a slow release iron pill every other day.

  • I took them from three months prior to conceiving and throughout my entire pregnancy and I have a beautiful, healthy, little baby!! I too could not swallow those horse pills.  I made myself a nervous wreck over these vitamins because they contain tuna oil and no iron but my dr assured me they were fine.  And turns out she was right because my baby is so healthy and strong! I did end up taking a chewable iron pill in my second tri just to make sure but not everyday.  I hope this makes you feel more at ease! These vitamins were a lifesavers!!

  • Yes, I could. No longer take the big pills my OB gave me and I think they upset my stomach. I love these vitamins because they taste like candy and they are easy to take. I also started taking vita fusion calcium supplements as recommended by my midwife. They are both great!
