Code Buttercream:Where to have 1st Bday Party??

LOs Birthday is 10/27 so a little too late to plan an outdoor party being that we are in Maine.  My dilema is that my 13yo nephew is in a wheelchair so I need somewhere handicapped accessible.  My sisters is def big enough but they live 45 minutes away from everyone else that would be attending so I feel thats a little too far to ask people to travel.  Anyone have any clever suggestions as to where to host his party??

  • If you or any family/friends belong to a church, you could check there.  Most are handicap accessible.  Many would charge you little or nothing to hold the party in their hall/banquet space.

This, and what is even better is that they will let you use their tables and chairs.

  • I agree with what all the pp said.

I'm in almost the same situation as you. L's birthday party wont be until Nov.4th, so obviously living in MA I can't have it outside.. (these are the times I wished we still lived in FL lol) and we have 3 people that will need the facility to be handicap accessible, too. I have been looking into local VFW halls or Yacht Clubs.. but they can be pricey :-(

I hope you're able to find a hall/rental space that suits your needs!
