I am secretly thinking that if we have a girl to name her Anne or Ann. They were the name of both my deceased grandmothers. But how do you pick without snubbing the other one?
So the full name would be
Anne Kimrey H
or
Ann Kimrey H
(Kimrey comes from DH's side)
Re: Ann vs. Anne
My first name is Anne so I'm biased as well.
Ditto.
Fact.

I see Ann as more of a middle name and Anne as more of a first name.
My middle name is Ann after my great grandmother whose first name is Anne.
Ha! DH and I have decided on a girls name that ends in -anne and we had this exact discussion. I used the Anne of Green Gables as my argument for it ending in an e... And won!
Thats all I could think of when I first read this post! I would love to use Anne as a first name, but the middle name of our first girl is going to be Shirley (3 generations) and I couldn't be that mean to our LO.
Love this
This! I've always loved my name and I've only met a handful of others with my name. The "e" seems to balance it for me, personally.
as soon as I saw the thread title I thought this, here is the quote from the book, just to take it one step further:
Anne: I've always imagined that my name was Cordelia - at least, I always have of late years. When I was young I used to imagine it was Geraldine, but I like Cordelia better now. But if you call me Anne, please call me Anne spelled with an e.Marilla: What difference does it make how it's spelled?Anne: Oh, it makes such a difference. It looks so much nicer. When you hear a name pronounced can't you always see it in your mind, just as if it was printed out? I can; and A-N-N looks dreadful, but A-N-N-E looks so much more distinguished. If you'll only call me Anne spelled with an e I shall try to reconcile myself to not being called Cordelia. By the same token, if I ever have a Katherine, It'll be with a K, as the C just looks so smug.\
