Wonder Weeks

For those who know about/keep track of behaviors during the Wonder Weeks - just wondering whether your LO hit them as described in the book based on their EDD, or were their milestones related to their actual age?

For instance, DD was 8 days early, but it kind of seems like she hit the behaviors on time, rather than a week late. I might be wrong since I just started reading it and am looking back, so just curious!

Re: Wonder Weeks

  • Same for my daughter.  It's on time by actual age, but not gestational age.

  • My baby was 2 weeks late, and she's hittting them at roughtly her gestational age. She hit her first at 3.5 weeks (5.5 weeks gestational age) and her second at around 5 weeks (7 weeks gestational age, so still a bit early). I think it is an approximation and being within a week or two is normal, it's just an approximation.

This. PS I highly recommend the wonder weeks iPhone app.

  • DD1 was 10 days late, but pretty much hit all her Wonder Weeks on target, give or take.  That book was totally helpful in getting me through some of her fussy phases!

I'm not sure yet for DD2.  For the 8 week one, she started a little early but still was going through it even at 9 weeks.  She was 7 days late.

  • Connor seems to be hitting them right on the nose but he was also born on his due date.

  • Thanks everyone!

I know that it's all approximations, but it would be nice to have a semblance of what to expect. I wish I had started reading the book from the beginning so that I'd be able to keep track of things as we went along... The other difficulty is that we recently started to give DD gripe water, and that's tamed her fussiness A LOT (why didn't we do this sooner???), so now I don't even have a baseline to compare her fussiness to! It does seem like she's been doing a bunch of the behaviors discussed for the 8th wonder week for a little while now, though.
