Has anyone tried to have their dh check to see if they are dilated? I know tmi, but i have no patience to wait til my appt next week! Is this totally weird? If you have, could he tell?

Do not do this. Your H is not a professional and could introduce infection. Plus, I doubt he would know what he was even looking for...what if he accidentally broke your water? Airman's wife's MW accidentally broke hers...and she's a professional who has been doing this kind of thing for years, so to leave it up to a man who has never been a woman and doesn't know a woman's anatomy in specific medical detail is absurd. Again, do not do this.
Also, you're not even full-term yet. I know you're anxious, but it's not worth the risk, at all.

BAD idea. I heard of a girl whose DH broke her water this way and she wound up having an emergency c-section before she was full term, baby had to go to NICU and everything.
Seriously, it's a really really really dumb idea.
Even when your OB checks you at your appointment it doesn't mean ANYTHING.
HAHAHA!!!! Exactly... NO THANKS! DH is a nurse, but he still isnt doing that!
my dh is a physician and checked my cervix during my first pregnancy. We have sterile gloves at the house. I will probably have him do it again when I am in labor this time so I can avoid going in too early.
My DH did this once when I was in labor with DS... he is a critical care paramedic (at least thats what they're called in Canada) and often treats pregnant women. We also used sterile gloves...
Although he couldn't really tell how dilated I was, he could tell the DS's head was really low. Then DS was born about 3 hours later.
I wouldn't recommend doing this though unless you have training... and the proper sterile gloves.
