Fun way to tell DD (and intro)

Hi everyone!! I did an intro on March 2013 board, but not here. I'm just about 7 weeks pg with my 2nd. I already have a beautiful 9 yr old DD and am excited to be a mommy again :)

DH and I are going to tell DD that we're pg when I am 11 weeks. She will be with her father when I have my 1st u/s next week and I want to tell her in person. I know she is going to be excited, as soon as DH and I got married, 1.5 yrs ago, she has been asking where the babies are lol Her excitement is making me excited!! Anyway, I want to tell her in a fun way, but can't come up with too many ideas. I thought about making her a cake that says you're going to be a big sis or buying her a big sister charm and wrapping it. DH thinks I should just tell her, but I want it to be memorable for her. What do you gals think?? TIA!!

    Hi!  Welcome!  The charm idea is cute--a keepsake (vs. a cake you just eat.  Wait did I just NOT vote for cake?  Maybe do both?!)

    Is this the first kid for your DH (your DD is from another relationship)?

    Yes, this will be DH's first, DD is from prev marriage.

    Congratulations! I think both the cake and charm ideas are cute! A cute T-shirt announcing her new sibling's upcoming arrival is cute too-I've seen shirts that say things like "Only child until duedate" I've seen other cute ones but I forget what they said on them
