What's in your crib?

So now that we have moved away from the primary SIDS risk time, I have noticed more people putting blankets, etc in LO's crib. I am not judging at all, but for me I am still paranoid about putting anything in there. If we get desperate and have to use the seahorse for some reason, I always sneak in after he's asleep and take it out, even if it's in the corner. If I have to put toys in there to occupy him in a safe place for a few mins, I put in hard toys with no plush. I haven't found the courage to change this yet, but the idea of him snuggling with a blankie is so cute!

So.... what's in your LO's crib at night/nap time?

Re: What's in your crib?

  • One of those soft lovie blankets with the animal head on it, a hand puppet named Susie that looks like a koala (same size as other thing) and sometimes scout the puppy.

  • Seahorse, that's it.  Sometimes I will forget and leave her projector in there (it's usually on the changing table so I put it in the crib when it's diaper/pj time), and that's a disaster becuase she will turn it on in her face at night and start screaming because it's so bright!

  • A fitted sheet, and a kick piano tied to the end. That's it. I'm like you-too scared to put anything in there yet!

  • A stuffed purple bunny, a plush hello kitty and her pacifier.  She hasn't really attached to the seahorse yet, but I'm sure that will come.

  • He goes down with a little blankie with a teddy bear head on it. This(https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Discover-Grow-Musical-Mirror/dp/B005IWMAB2)is tied to the side of the crib too.

  • We have her seahorse in the corner and right now a sock monkey in the lower opposite corner. I'm still too paranoid for a blanket.

  • The Precious Planet projector is attached to the crib, but inside there is Scout, the seahores, her blue fleece blanket, and 2 plugs.

We have our old alarm clock set to white noise that sits on the wood floor in front of her bed.

  • Breathable bumpers, her blanket and her baby doll. She is a blanky baby and has always slept with one and never had a problem.

  • A blanket, a stuffed alligator and a paci. He wakes up, kicks te blanket off, grabs the paci and goes for the toy. Every time.

  • Naps: Seahorse, paci, and soothe blankie

Bedtime: the same minus the seahorse, I just started letting him take his soothe blankie to bed at night.  He likes to rub his face with it when he wakes up.  I don't use the seahorse at night bc he will kick it and it will wke him up.

  • His wubbanub and there is a small stuffed bear in the one corner (that he ignores). I haven't given him a blanket yet but I probably will when the weather starts getting cooler.

  • His small  taggie blanket and lately a glow worm.  Sometimes a little baby afghan if it's cold.

  • A regular bumper, fitted sheet, 3 different blankets, about 5 stuffed animals, and usually a paci. She won't sleep without a blanket to snuggle with, and she likes to play with her stuffed animals when she wakes up. I've had all that in the crib since day one.

  • He sleeps with an aden and anais muslin blanket. I like it cuz it's nice and light and breathable for the summer. I just got a sleep sheep- giving that a try tonight! Took the breathable bumper off about a month ago cuz DS is starting to pull himself up and I didn't want him to use that as a step and flip over the side. But maybe I'm just being paranoid about that.

  • Bumpers and the Seahorse.  At nap time I give her a blanket because she is usually in a romper with exposed arms and legs.

  • DS still likes to be swaddled so he's usually swaddled up before hand with his monkey. He breaks free once he is ready to be up and grabs his blanket that is tossed on the side and snuggles up with that while he waits for me to come get him. No bumpers...he was using them as a step stool to attempt to climb out.

  • At night DD lays her head on a small receiving blanket and then I roll up the ends towards her cheeks, kind of like a speed bump on either side of her head.  She likes having something soft on her cheeks and also having her head steady.  I also put a blanket over her legs after she falls asleep.  When she wakes up, she pulls the blanket up and plays with it, but I always hear her at that point, so I don't worry about it.  I want to put up bumpers again because I'm a little nervous that her arms and legs will get stuck but I think she'll end up being too distracted or play with it instead of falling asleep.
