PSA- Vulli Sophie the Giraffe

Hey all- My husband and I often can't get over how expensive Sophie is- or why, but all babies I know seem to love her. I know she comes up on this thread a lot.

I just found her on Amazon for $17. I am thinking about getting her for my friend but this price seems too good to be true.

Just thought I'd share! I'm not sure If I'm allowed to post a link or if that would be considered spam?  I will, and if it's not allowed, someone please let me know.

That is a great price!  They do go on sale from time to time.  Go for it!

You can post links to sales and such, just not when they are referral links that will benefit you financially in some way.

I actually just got that one from my Amazon registry. Be careful that some of the reviews claim it is a fake. I haven't opened the packaging yet to find out, but just thought I'd point that out.

It's a good price but I don't think it's so low that you should worry about it not being the real Sophie. Go ahead and get it. DS loved it and it was still in good shape so we will use the same one for DD.

I'm not big on these things (and will consider Sophie ourselves), but Sophie is not actually regulated as a teether.  It is regulated as a toy.  I say that because it does not actually meet the non-toxicity requirements as a teether.  Just food for thought.

Oh good grief. So what if it isn't regulated as a teether?  Kids put EVERYTHING in their mouths anyways.

I'm not sure if you read the page, but what it is regulated as impacts acceptable levels of different compounds.  I don't disagree with you at all and I think people can go overboard with this, which is why I said I would still use Sophie.  It is important to others though who choose Sophie specifically because she is "non-toxic."

Sam's Club (in-store & online) has been selling it for the last few weeks with a stuffed animal packaged together for about $25 if anyone is concerned about getting a fake. https://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod6450155&navAction=

This weekend is free for non-members as well. https://www.samsclub.com/sams/pagedetails/content.jsp?pageName=open-house&iid=CRCC5086

We love Sophie! But I would never pay full price for her.

I bought ours from Amazon for a similar price and it has held up well. Despite a few bad reviews, I don't think this is a knockoff. DS has been playing with it and chewing on it for 4-5 months and he loves it.

I never bought Sophie - we received THREE.  Returned one.  Kept the other two for each car.  Sophie is a standard in the car at all times, now.

amazon had them for less than $15 at one point, I think I got 2 for $25 or something like that earlier this year.
