Re: Truth or lie CP

  • And he does tell me the truth.  Regularly.  And then he cooks.

  • Definitely the truth. I love it when he tells me recipes aren't that great, and which are keepers.
  • I like honest feedback, and H usually is. When he cooks and I don't like it, I tell him and he gets all butthurt about it.

  • 92%?? I think you guys are FOS!
  • Sometimes I'll make up something for dinner and he will really like it, but I don't write it down and forget exactly what I did. I'll try it again and he will be like, "Babe, this really doesn't taste like it did last time..." Also, I know if he likes what I make if he goes for seconds.

He would lie - not because it would hurt my feelings, but because he eats everything whether he likes it or not.

  • I put truth.  I cook quick meals because I usually cook while I have all the kids.  When he is home he cooks.  The cooking is split 50/50 mainly.  He likes to cook and I just cook to feed the kids.  I have seriously done cereal for dinner before......does that say anything? lol.

  • I voted lie. Mostly because he doesn't cook so I'd rather he just eat it and not complain.

Desperate times call for desperate measures lol. I've asked the boys what they want for dinner and when they say 'cereal!' then cereal it is, lol. I don't have the energy when I've had lack of sleep and H has been at work 12+ hours. It doesn't happen often, but I too am guilty lol.

DH lied to me about liking a dish I liked to make for years...then he finally told me he didn't like it. I wished he would have told me sooner and I wouldn't have kept making it for him, but he said he felt bad. Now I only make it if I know he won't be there for dinner.

I'm usually the first to say when something I've made isn't good. H will eat anything (one of the benefits if a MIL that's not a good cook) but he's truthful when things need improvement.

I am too. H is smart enough to always respond  "I think it's fine," or something along those lines, but I am realistic about my capabilities.

This.  Don't like it?  Tough ***!

  • Truth.  I'm a good cook and I like to cook (well, when I have time).  I appreciate that because when I make something that is a mis-step (like last week--that chicken seasoning wasn't quite right), I know when to tweak.

Unfortunately, this means I have to cook for us all the time :).

DH can't cook at all. I know that I'm a good cook, but I do a lot of made up stuff that I always ask for an honest opinion about. I also try and throw in some in that he wouldn't normally eat since he grew up as a Stouffers kid. I always ask him if it's goood with those too. I don't want to spend the $ or effort making something he doesn't like, and he NEVER helps decide what to eat for the week, so I get to make what I want

  • Truth in a nice way. Every time I make something new, I get an honest answer by asking if he wants me to make it again. Then, if he doesn't like it, it's the food and not my cooking...lol at least it feels that way to both of us.

This. I messed up boiling the water to sterilize my pump parts.

He cooks, I clean. Always. We're both happy with it. It's rule #1 in our house.

  • For sure the truth, and there is no lack of that. He will tell me exactly what he thinks of a meal, good or bad.

  • If I try something new that he doesn't care for he will give me the "meh" but will eat it anyway.

After almost 17 years being married I pretty much know what he likes and what he doesn't.

This is the add that it shows on the side of this thread for me. LOL

  • He tells me all the time that he doesn't like my cooking but we have a feud about onions. I love them in everything, he does not. I don't change what I cook for him.

  • DH told me I was a crappy cook 6 years ago. I've made dinner for him maybe 10 times since then. =D
