Looking for "crunchy" OBGYN office in Manhattan

Hi-  Looking for a good crunchy OBGYN / group in Manhattan (since it looks like most of them end up sharing the delivery role, you have to like them all these days).  By "crunchy" I mean, open to the idea that it's not all about western medicine, and it's not all black and white.  Hopefully they won't recommend that I take daily baby aspirin just because I happen to be 37, even when my blood pressure is super low, and I'm a super healthy weight and exercise a lot.  (WTF?)

Would love for them to be associated with Mt. Sinai or NYU, be open to natural childbirth if I choose, having a doula present, and not freak out that I'm 37.  And it'd be great if they were experienced.. i.e., older than me.

Yes, I've considered birthing centers, but my age makes me "high risk" on paper, so my guess is it's not a good match.

 Any recommendations??

 Thanks!

  • Have you looked into St. Luke's Roosevelt? They have the birthing center on one floor and regular L&D right above it if you need to be transferred.

  • Spring Ob/Gyn. It's where I go and they have a midwife as well. I always see her :) Her name is Bonnie Yim and they are associated with NYU.
