Do you care for fish as a pet?

I am considering getting one fish for DS and am interested in a beta fish or a gold fish that he can feed.

What would I need besides fish bowl and fish food?

I already know I would have to change water everyday.

How was your expericence taking care of the family fish?

TIA

I love goldfish. Don't treat a fish like a throw-away pet. Get a basic book about the fish and read it with him so he learns, like any pet you will have, they are to be cared for and respected. Goldfish will happily eat themselves to death so your ds should be supervised during feedings. I

  • Ugh...I hated the responsibility of a fish...and my parents had a filter/light/aquarium set up.  If you really want to take the time, then go for it.  But it would be YOUR responsibility, and do you want to spend that time on it?

Get a little 2gal tank with a filter. Then you only have to change the water about once every 1-2 weeks. I like bettas simply because they are pretty!
