I was hoping the Magic Sleepsuit would be the answer to our sleep issues, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Those using it - did it take more than 1 night to "work"?
V has been sleeping swaddled in her co-sleeper/RnP. She's been breaking out of the swaddle every night, so we knew it was time to find something new.
We tried the suit last night and she slept 4.5 hours, then 1.5 hours, then 45 min, then 10 min. Finally, around 4 a.m., I gave up and changed her into pjs and a Sleep Sack and put her on her tummy. She slept another 2.5 hours after that.
She takes naps on her tummy and does really well, so I'm thinking tummy sleeping in her crib might be the way to go for her. I know it's not recommended, but I'm not sure what else to try at this point. Suggestions are welcome!
Re: Magic Sleepsuit twas not magical for us...
Oh no Ruby!! That sucks! I wonder if, like you said, she's a back sleeper?
It did work right away for Mila, BUT we go back and forth between her getting up once (she's down at 930-10 and if she gets up, it's normally once between 3-5 for 15 min) or her not getting up at all until between 6-8.
Maybe try one more night?? Or try her Unswaddled on her belly if you're comfortable and she has good head control??
So I guess it works for some and not for others, huh?
Glad Mila likes it! Guess it's just not for Violet and Vivian.
We are definitely unlucky in the sleep department. I just keep telling myself that she will eventually STTN... or at least go a reasonable amount of hours. It can't be like this forever!
If DS would sleep on his tummy I would totally let him. He can roll belly to back pretty easily, so I'm not concerned. But, he won't tummy sleep right now.
Our silly 16 pound 4 month old is still swaddled most of the time, and thus sleeping on his back. We're doing one arm out now, but it backfires sometimes. I like him having a hand out to suck or chew, but then it also wakes him up.
