Ok ladies...lets talk underwear

I will start off by saying I am not a skinny girl to begin with (prepreg, size 12/14 depending on brand). Well I freaking hate underware right now. I bought the haynes low rise and they roll up under my belly. bought motherhood maternity low rise and they simply are not comfy, same with a different cut I bought there. So what are you wearing? Are you comfortable? Are you uncomfortable? Lets hear it!

I've never been one to wear thongs or "fancy" underwear. These are what I wear and I love them. I get them at Target.

I was a size 8 but right before getting pregnant gained about 5-10 pounds and went up to a size 10. Most of these I have are a size 6 but I recently bought a few new packs in size  7 (I hate how underwear sizes are different than pant sizes) and they are working great! Good luck on your search.

  • I buy Gap underwear when they are on sale (5/25 or when there's an extra 40% off clearance). I have some 1 size up I bought when I found out, all hipsters/all 100% cotton. Love them.

I hate underwear too! I never wear it when I'm home lounging around.  I have found that spandex boyshorts are my favorite.  I am not a skinny girl pre pregancy, size 8-9, athletic build.  I find that as I've gained weight, normal undies give me wedgies! Not fun!

  • I stocked up on the VS low rise bikini at during their semi annual last month and I must say they are awesome.  However, I seem to be one of the few who has not had problems with underwear since getting pregnant.  I have also lost 20lbs so far this pregnancy so that might be why.

These Victoria's Secret panties have been and still are my favorite.  I've always had a large bubble butt so I knew these would stand the test of time.  I seriously have been collecting this type of panty for years and I love them!

  • I also love hiphuggers from VS.  I've never noticed them rolling or anything.

  • I am currently wearing a cotton thong, but that is only because I had fitted yoga pants on earlier and didnt want a panty line. They dont exactly feel uncomfortable, but I definitely prefer boyshorts/cotton bikinis during pregnancy. Last time, I wore my regular underwear (mix of Victorias Secret and other cheaper but cute options) until the last month or so. At that point, I bought a back of cheap cotton Hanes bikins in a size larger than I normally would wear.

I wear the old version of these. I love them. The new version is not the same. I think they made the butt smaller. I bought a pair recently and they don't fit correctly. Ugh. Why did they have to change?? Luckily, I have a lot of pairs of the old version and they are in good shape. I was able to wear them throughout my whole pregnancy.

  • I would agree that the bikinis can be quite comfortable. They seem to come down lower just under the belly.

  • I know exactly what you mean!! I bought some motherhood low rise as well and they are awful!! Too bad I can't return them.

I usually wear VS bikini's, so I think I'm just going to head over and get the next size up (large) and see if that helps with the rolling.

Oh and just as a tip- get DARK underwear. TMI, I know, but you'll thank me post partum.

  • I like boy shorts. I used to only wear thongs, then switched for multiple reasons (still do if I wear yoga pants). They don't give me wedgies and I don't feel like I'm wearing granny underwear. I don't like low rise underwear as I don't think they flatter my figure. I know motherhood doesn't have them in maternity, so I'm going to try out a bigger size when I need to. My belly has grown but my butt has stayed the same so not sure how well this will work.

I never really have had issues with underwear.  When pg with DD or now.  I wear Victoria's Secret low rise hiphugger or bikini from Target.  The only thing that happens is the front elastic rolls down.  It doesn't really bother me.

The only thing that is uncomfortable is the few times I wear a thong.  The only reason I do that is because I don't want panty lines.  Thongs seem to be much more uncomfortable now.

  • I just want to say that I had the hardest time finding underwear during my last pregnancy. And I felt like they were as big as pillow cases. It was so depressing. I remembering trying to decide whether I should save them for baby number 2 or throw them just because I hated them so much. I am going to try and find more comfy ones this time.

  • I remember going through a phase in my last pregnancy when I needed to buy bigger underwear.  I just went for boy shorts or hipsters one size bigger.  But then I found that as my uterus moved up, I was o.k. wearing my pre-pregnancy undies.  I think "maternity underwear" are unnecessary.

  • I switched to Gap Body all cotton bikinis in my first pregnancy when all my other underwear started annoying me, and I have never looked back.  Best underwear ever.

  • I wore thongs exclusively (mainly VS Lacie), but about halfway through the first trimester - they just didn't feel comfortable anymore. I ended up just going to Target and buying some of the super soft bikini cut undies that are in those bins - and I really like them! They were on sale 5 for $20...and the last time I was there, I bought 4 more. I still use a few thongs depending on what I'm wearing to work, but it's so much better with those in the rotation! I honestly feel like I could change undies 2x a day! Good luck!

  • I really like Target's Gilligan & O'Malley underwear. They have a few different kinds, but they have these really soft ones that are great. They come in bikini and hipster (can't do the thongs anymore!!)  and they are 5 for $20!!

  • I'm bigger too - usually a 12. I'm wearing clearance bikinis from Target - they're low cut to fit my growing uterus, but still cover my butt. I'm almost 15 weeks and haven't bought a size bigger yet, even though my pants size has increased.
  • VS cotton hiphuggers with lace waist.  or the cotton lace waist cheekies.  love them!

  • I just wear the normal underwear I wore prepregnancy.. I wear the VS low rise thongs or boy shorts. Same size I wore prepregnancy, XS/S. I'm pretty comfortable.

  • I've been wearing Vanity Fair double-string bikinis for the last 8 years or so.  I wore them all through my pregnancy with DS and so far they are fine this time around, too.  I like them because they are low-cut in the front, but also have good butt coverage and I'm rarely picking wedgies.  I am not sure how they would fit in a bigger size, but it would be worth a try.  I get them on sale at Kohl's.

    https://www.amazon.com/Vanity-Fair-Illumination-String-Bikini/dp/B007VD3V96

ETA:  I think they also have them in a different cut, more like a brief, too.  Not sure about the rise on them, though.

I swear by them...going tomororw to buy more!

Same here. I've been wearing the Lacie thongs from Victoria's Secret for years and I don't plan on switching anytime soon. If I need to buy a bigger size, fine. I can deal with that, but I definitely don't plan on switching styles. I may wear regular panties the first few days post delivery to save my Lacies from being ruined, but even then, that's a big IF.
