Swollen Taste Bud? (sorry, and intro!)

Hi and happy pregnancy, everyone!  I've been a lurker for a couple of weeks and haven't introduced myself yet.  This is my 1st (and only) pregnancy - 7w5d along now.  Unplanned, but DH and I are excited :).

I've had all the typical symptoms - exhausted, sore boobs, queasy (I've been lucky so far with m/s) - but here's a weird one that I was hoping some of you could tell me is, yes, just another odd thing that happens... I have a very swollen and white taste bud on the side of my tongue towards the back.  It's sore (I thought it was a canker sore when it first started) and because of where it is, I keep accidentally biting it.  It's driving me nuts!  I haven't tried salt water yet - and I know that's something that a lot of you are probably going to suggest.  What I really want to know is if it's happened to anyone else!

    Congratulations on your pregnancy

Swollen taste buds are not a symptom of pregnancy.. you must of Burnt it or bit it some how.

  • I have swollen taste buds that look white right now too. I know with DD I had swollen gums but don't remember th taste buds.

  • Thanks.  I did wake up one morning with that side of my tongue between my teeth, so I must have been clamping down on it in my sleep (jeesh...  stress much?).  so, that must have started it.  Plus, the fact that I keep accidentally biting it now that it's swollen isn't helping.  It's just that I've never had this before so, you know, I automatically think, "oh, must be the pregnancy!"
