With all the high school drama on here lately (thanks sparkly!), I thought we needed a GTKY!

What was your HS mascot? We were the Fighting Irish
Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? we had a lot of fun Homecoming skits and each day of Homecoming week we had a different theme - like pajama day - which was fun b/c we normally wore uniforms.
Where did you work in high school? I babysat and had a real job at the dry cleaners
How did you get to/from school? My brother was a year older so he drove us, and then I got the car when he went off to college
What were your extra-curricular activities? I played sports, was in French club, and was a student ambassador. That meant we went out to the grade schools and talked about our HS and then hosted students when they came to visit.
What did you and your friends do for fun? Most just went to each other's houses. We hung out in the Taco Bell parking lot often. We also went to movies, bowling, and mini golfing and went to a lot of the HS sporting events.
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from HS (IRL, fb friends don't count!)? Just with my BFF, though I haven't seen her in a couple years. I'll randomly get emails from friends and I do hear about them through my mom and dad.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you? Oh My Gosh, NO!! No No No never ever ever, you couldn't pay me enough to go back. Oh I was so awkward and self-conscious and awkward. Ick, I get embarrassed just thinking about it. I had a great time and had a really active social life, but I was too worried about what other people thought and trying so hard to fit.

Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? nothing that comes to mind
Where did you work in high school? lifeguard at the city pool in the summer
How did you get to/from school? rode with a friend's older brother then drove myself when I turned 16
What were your extra-curricular activities? cheer, NHS
What did you and your friends do for fun? well, we were kind of nerds, so we usually just hung out, watched movies, and occasionally slept over at each other's houses
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from HS (IRL, fb friends don't count!)? I am now good friends with a group that weren't my closest HS friends but who I had been friends with since elementary.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you? heck no. I did not like HS much.
Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? Every Freashman was told about the swimming pool on the roof. That or they were given a bathroom pass for the one on the roof.
Where did you work in high school? Rick's Country Store
How did you get to/from school? Had my own car or my sister drove her car.
What were your extra-curricular activities? Hanging out with my friends.
What did you and your friends do for fun? Make fun of others, have bon fire parties.
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from HS (IRL, fb friends don't count!)? One or two friends, we're all pretty busy with our own lives/families.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you? Would I do it differently? Yes, but perhaps I would have given in and dated MH in high school and not run away from him.

Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I am sure we did :-)
Where did you work in high school? A coffeeshop. I was a barista.
How did you get to/from school? I drove when I got my license, but rode the bus before that or bummed a ride off a friend.
What were your extra-curricular activities? I was in marching band (drum major), concert band, symphony orchestra and played softball
What did you and your friends do for fun? Watched movies, did stuff outside, cruised around town, went camping, shopped/hung out at the mall, drank my senior year once in a while, haha
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from HS (IRL, fb friends don't count!)? Most of my best friends now are friends from HS
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you? absolutely. I had a blast in HS

Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? hmm not really
Where did you work in high school? A restaurant (Grandma's). I loved it. Worked there 4 years, since I stayed around for 2 years after I graduated to get my AA.
How did you get to/from school? My mama! Until 11th grade when I got a car
What were your extra-curricular activities? Band! Again, loved it. I played the trumpet, which was so much fun for pep band. In marching band I was in Rifles, and Jr and Sr year I was captain.
What did you and your friends do for fun? Drove around. One of my friends had a cabin on the lake about 20 mins away. We loved spending time up there in the summer and occasionally winter. Didn't really drink until Sr year and even then it was sporatic.
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from HS (IRL, fb friends don't count!)? 2 years ago, I was roomies with the friend that had the cabin, but it didn't end well. We've just changed so much since high school. My best friend from HS is still my best friend, and a friend I was just acquaintances with in HS is my other best friend now. In college we got close.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you? For sure. I loved high school...and I was 30 lb lighter then!
What was your HS mascot?
A sailboat... yeah. A freaking sailboat.
Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions?
Our lake is a big deal ( the reason our town is as "uppity" as it is and why it's over run by tourists every summer >:( ) there's a park with a gazebo right by the lake, that's where our graduation is held and after all the graduates jump in the lake.
Where did you work in high school?
A couple places, a restaurant and a convenience store in the village.
How did you get to/from school?
The bus up until high school, then I snagged rides with friends who were older.
What were your extra-curricular activities?
I ran track, and I kicked a** at it until the stupid coach over worked me and I got a stress fracture in my hip... I haven't been able to run like I used to since then.
What did you and your friends do for fun?
We drank in fields... yeah lol there was nothing else to do.

Well there's FI, and then there's my best friend (surprisingly we didn't really like each other in HS, we were "friends") and then her boyfriend now was also my HS boyfriend. Other then that, I really could care less about anyone from back then.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you?
No. I HATED my school, if you weren't rich and wearing the right clothes and carrying the right bags you were *** on their shoes. However... it is a fantasy and well, actually it's a bit of a goal too... to teach there. Kind of like my own private big FU, hopefully some of the teachers will be there still... probably several of the younger ones who were incredibly helpful and really truly were there for me. I want to prove to them that they weren't wrong about me. As for the others, more like a f*ck you look at me now type thing.

Where did you work in high school? I coached track for elementary and middle school kids and babysat
How did you get to/from school? It varied from day to day between public transportation, walking when it was nice out and i didn't feel like taking the bus, and rides from family.
What were your extra-curricular activities?I was always up to something...Newspaper, Debate Club, Choir, Band Mascot, Track, Foreign Language Honor Society, DARE Peer Educator, Drama Club....By Junior year I stopped doing as many extra-curriculars because I had ballet 5-7 days per week 45 minutes away.
What did you and your friends do for fun?bowling, drink tea and talk, watch movies...I was a goody two-shoes.

Yes a handful of people who I see a few times a year when I make the 8 hour trip home.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you? Absolutely not.
What was your HS mascot? Hodag!! Yep, look it up, it's the coolest/best/most original mascot ever!
Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? Bell Game. Football game against a rival school. Both teams equally sucked so it was always fun! Bon fire and parade Homecoming Week.
Where did you work in high school? YMCA. Lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons
How did you get to/from school? My mom drove me until I got my liscense and a car, then I drove myself
What were your extra-curricular activities? Soccer, Swimming, Key Club, Recycling Club, and one failed attempt at the Cross Country Ski team
What did you and your friends do for fun? Hung out in my friends basement, watching the guys play video games. Made funny videos. Went to a lake whenever we could or went to someones house to float around on a boat. Senior year it turned into a lot of field parties, even though I wasn't a drinker in HS.
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from HS (IRL, fb friends don't count!)? Only one person, my BFF, we don't talk much but we always make the effort. There are a few people I'm mostly in contact with through FB, but I always call them if I will be in my hometown.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, would you? Yes, I'm one of those total freaks who actually enjoyed highschool. I wasn't one of the "popular" kids, I wasn't a "loser". I was just nice to everyone, had different groups of friends and had a good time with everyone.

Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? If they did, I wasn't a part of them. Usually the seniors painted this HUGE rock outside of the school, but I never participated.
Where did you work in high school? Target (jewelry/makeup department, w00t) and the vet clinic
How did you get to/from school? drove myself
What were your extra-curricular activities? marching band, gymnastics, tennis
What did you and your friends do for fun? hung out at Culver's or Perkins, had all-nighters at someones parents house
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from HS (IRL, fb friends don't count!)? Just a few, but as I've gotten older we've tried to connect with more people from HS

Did your HS have any fun/interesting traditions? Unless you count stealing a fiberglass rooster from in front of a restaurant every year...no.
Where did you work in high school? I taught piano starting at age 15. I had about 12 students by the time I graduated HS.
How did you get to/from school? 9/10: parents dropped me off and I walked to the elem school my Mom taught in. 11/12: drove myself.
What were your extra-curricular activities? band, choir accompanist, drama, track, cross country, NHS, CSF.
What did you and your friends do for fun? movie nights? Maybe? Most of my classmates were potheads/lazy bums.
