I did once yrs ago at Nordy's but I don't remember all of the answers to your questions. I was suit shopping and did spend a lot of money and the saleslady was extremely helpful and knew what would be the right fit for me based on my body shape.

I would like to do it again and have been asked several times while shopping there.  I have not followed through....Good idea!

  • I've used a personal shopper at Nordy's a few times.  There's no fee and no minimum to spend, although you should be up front about your budget so the shopper pulls appropriate clothing.

I told the shopper what I was looking for, my price range, my sizes, my body type, my general style.  When I got to the store, she had pulled a number of outfits for me to try, with accessories and shoes as well.  She was incredibly helpful as I tried things on-got different sizes, discussed fit of different brands, got other accessories.

I loved the experience-the shopper was great at things I'm terrible at, like accessories.  If you build a relationship with them, they'll set aside things for you, which is especially helpful during the big sales.

  • I JUST did an appointment w/ a personal shopper at Nordis 2 weeks ago.  It was AMAZING.  I had actually heard about it on this board.  The woman who worked with me had tons of clothing pulled in my general size - I was looking for work clothing, and I'm a teacher.  Honestly, at Nordis it's hard to find stuff that is truly affordable.  I spent a TON, but came away with enough to get me started.  Now I've been looking on eBay for discounted stuff by the same designer that most of my shirts/sweaters are from, so I can continue to add to a real teacher wardrobe.

  • Just had a personal shopper at Nordstroms few weeks ago and loved it.  Heading back from maternity leave and needed a black suit and some new tops.  The store hooked me up with a great shopper who had also done the whole pumping and breast feeding thing.  I echo other posters and def recommend it.

Great to hear...I have brought it up on here before b/c I always wanted to do it but hadn't seen anyone else who had done it (or missed the posts!)... I am planning to offer up around $500 as my budget to start, hopefully that will be adequate for several decent things... ????  I am hoping for some stylish comfy shoes as I wear a size 5, but my feet have gotten wider since the kids & I am having a lot of shoe issues & Nordstrom supposedly specializes in  smaller sizes....
