Baby Moving but I don't feel it

I look down and I see that he is moving but I do not feel him moving.  I feel him move several times throughout the day but there are other times when what I just mentioned happens.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Is this normal?

Re: Baby Moving but I don't feel it

  • I had a few NST scans because I couldn't feel it, but Dr said LO was moving a ton.  Sometimes its just the position they are in.  Now all LO does is kick me in the ribs and I can feel that!

  • Yes!  I've been noticing this a lot lately.  I'll be sitting down with my arm resting at my side and baby will kick my arm and I don't feel it from inside.  Crazy!

  • That's how mine is all the time!  It's kinda weird to see your belly moving without feeling it :)

My doc said its fine.  They only care that you are still detecting movement, whether by feeling or seeing it.

  • OP I don't feel it a lot of the time....but I see it a lot. Also, depending on where your placenta is attached, that might be cause for not feeling as much (mine is posterior, which means it's closer to my back, while anterior is closer to the woman's front side, and if you have an anterior placenta, it's more of a cushion, so kicks and movements might seem softer. All of that doesn't really make sense with me, but I'm guessing I'm just not far enough along to feel my baby moving a lot).

  • It could just be the position the baby is in or where your placenta is too.
