has anyone gone to ods. what did you do for your commissioning if you had a direct commission

I am commissioning possibly next week and going to ods very soon. my husband is also in the military and wants to make a big deal out of it. what did you do for your commissioning if you had a direct commission. Any advice on ods?

Married 11/27/09 and TTC right away
Dx: Complete septate uterus with cervical duplication, endometrial polyps, PCOS, endometriosis, hypo thyroid, luteal phase defect
4 uterus surgeries to correct my complete septum and to remove polyps and 2 years of seeing the RE, medicated cycles and IUIs
Baby 1 and 2: BFP 3/3/11 with 2 babies EDD 11/1/11, M/C 4/6/11
Baby #3: 8/11 pregnant EDD 4/27/11 and m/c:(
Baby #4: 10/12/11 BFP! EDD 6/16/12m/c 10/26/11
Baby #5: 3/13/12 BFP! EDD 11/25/12 ANOTHER m/c :(

Baby #6: 2/14/13- BFP! EDD 10/24/13, CP 2/19/13
Baby #7: 3/15/13- BFP! EDD 11/27/13, another CP
Baby #8.  BFP 5/19/13 EDD 1/22/14. 8 was not our lucky number

4th septum resection on 5/31/13.
Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!

My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!

    When I got my commission, I honestly didn't do much. DH was deployed. My mom came out and took a couple pictures. My recruiter gave me a cake. That was it. ETA: I was Air Force, so I did COT. I don't know anything about ODS.

    DH just swore me in.  He is an Officer.  I was already an Air Force Officer, so I was just sworn into the Navy.  My AF commission was void, once I swore into the Navy per my contract. 

    Have fun at ODS!  It's not that bad.  The Navy is amazing! I've enjoyed every minute of  my 7 years of commissioned service!

    My H did ROTC, but when he commissioned we had a little family get together at a local park.  We all went to the ceremony, my MIL made some yummy food and we just celebrated his accomplishment as a family, it was really nice.

    My DH commissioned before we met but he said they had a small reception with family and close friends. We also just went to his friend's commissioning in VA and they had a reception since a lot of people came from out of town to see him get commissioned.

    9/20/2013 Came home with our little miracle from the Philippines

    well i just found out my commissioning is wednesday (like in 2 days) so i dont think we are going to do anything since my family lives far away. BUT next week we are having a 20 person family week in gaitlinberg tenn so maybe we will have a little party
