Hello Ladies!!! I'm so glad to be here!
I got my BFP last Friday. It was our first try. Needless to say I'm still in shock, and it hasn't really hit me yet. Everything feels like it is moving in fast forward while I'm standing still.
I called and made an appt. this morning. They said they wouldn't see me until I was 8 weeks along. So the first appt and ultrasound is set for August 29th.
I seriously don't know how they expect someone to wait that long!! I don't even feel like I can celebrate this until I get the Doctor's "okay." I wake up every day and want to take a test to make sure nothing has changed because I don't feel any different at all. But I can't afford to buy that many more test!! Has anyone else had to wait until they were "x" amount of weeks along before the dr. would see them. What did you do to keep yourself from going crazy?
Re: intro and question.
First off CONGRATULATIONS!!!
And I had my first appt when I was 8 weeks but that was just to get blood work done, family medical history and all that fun stuff. My first appt to see the doctor and to get my U/S is August 17th and I will be almost 12 weeks. Let me tell you it is HARD having to wait. If you are like me, you will end up driving yourself crazy thinking about all the "what ifs". But hopefully you can hang on and it wont be that bad for you!
yes, you typically wait that long because there is not much they can do/see to confirm everything. Some offices only do on u/s EVER for a low risk pg.
How to keep yourself from going crazy? I have NO IDEA!!! lol
Congrats and good luck!
We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013. We love her to pieces.
We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011. She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.
Congrats!!
I had the same thoughts when they said wait 8-10 weeks. With our schedules we don't go to the Dr until next Tuesday and that will be 10 weeks exactly.
Just read as much as you can, take your vitamins and stay positive.

I called my doctor's office right after getting a BFP and was told that the doctor wouldn't see me until I was 7-8 weeks, so I think that is pretty normal. I have my first doctor's appointment next week and am looking forward to it. The first week after I set up the appointment, it seemed like it would take forever for the month to go by but now that I am a a little over a week away, the time has flown by much faster than I expected.
Congratulations!
