Hungry & Frustrated!

I am 5 weeks (soon to be 6 weeks on Thursday) and I am constantly hungry!  I'm excited about that but at the same point and time, I have NO IDEA what I want to eat!  Its frustrating because as soon as I know what it is that I want to eat, it goes away and I become nauseated.  When I am able to go through with what I wanted to eat, 2 min after I start eating, the food loses its flavor, I stop eating and I am hungry even more.  Its weird!

I am a diabetic so I have to be careful with what I eat anyway but still!  Its getting to the point as to where I don't want to eat anything but I can't do that because I have to feed my 'little one.'  Anyone else dealing with this?  What do you do?  What have you done?

Help please!

Eat small portions of snacks throughout the day. I found this helpful in the beginning of my pregnancy.  Simple things such as crackers, cheese, a little fruit here and there, you can try yogurt, or toast.  I wasn't able to eat full meals until after 12 weeks, when the nausea finally went away.  You will feel much better soon!

  • Eat before you're ravenous. I set a reminder on my phone to eat a small snack every 3 hours and made it through decently. I also found it helpful to eat balance of protein and carbs for each snack. I ate peanuts and raisins, or apple slices with peanut butter, whole wheat bread with nutella (when I was feeling naughty). And see your doctor for recommendations about handling your diabetes while pregnant ASAP!
