I wanted morning sickness... well i got it

I was so concerned about feeling too good that i was praying for morning sickness. Well prayers have been answered, it's here! I am not complaining by any means b/c in my crazy little mind this is giving me hope. However with all that said does anyone have any tips on managing it at work ( I just started a new job). Any ideas on certain foods, drinks etc? This weekend i spent lounging around eating rice, crackers and soup, but tomorrow it's back to work.

  • Potato chips were always very helpful for me when I had MS with my first two. Didn't wear high necked shirts or necklaces because the slightest touch against the front of my neck made me gag. Kept TUMS on hand because once the acid reflux started up it made morning sickness worse. Don't let your stomach get empty, don't eat anything that makes you queezey to think about. If you are nauseous enough that you think you might vomit, just excuse yourself to the bathroom and do it - because waiting around usually just ends with vomiting somewhere you really wish you hadn't. lol

  • My "morning" sickness has been completely awful at work. Someone on here suggested I try lollipops like dum dums and they have just about saved my life. ?If you can't do a lollipop at work I would keep some hard candy on hand- the sour stuff seems to be the best so maybe Jolly Ranchers or Life Savers. ?I swear it keeps me from puking all the time and no one will think it's strange if you are eating candy versus eating saltines 24/7. ?
  • I always feel "better" when I have m/s. Just makes it real for me since you don't show or feel anything in the 1st tri but sickness.

I just ate small, bland meals. Even if I thought something really acidic or spicy sounded good, I'd avoid it because I always ended up feeling like total shiit, and likely puking my guts out.

  • Whatever sounds good is most likely to go down without gagging. If I don't eat, I end up with a raging headache by the end of the day, so I've been trying to eat whatever I can. It seems to help to eat every few hours so your stomach doesn't get too empty.

Vitamin Water helps because of the B6.

I keep baggies in my purse with stuff like dry cheerios, pretzels, crackers, etc so that if I get hungry, I can eat a little something. (Lately, when I get hungry I need to eat NOW.) PB crackers are also good and the PB sticks with you a bit more.

Ditto pp on the jolly ranchers or lifesavers. Gum also helps sometimes.

  • Nothing is working for me! All food tastes gross and I can't keep anything down except soup!! Lost the last five pounds I was hoping to before getting pregnant (even though I'm not excited about it) I'm so over this....Unfortunatley with my son I was sick until week 22 - Just not all day long!!

It will get better and trust me the end result is worth it!! My son is the best person on the planet!!

Good luck finding what works for you!!

  • I went through it last week for the first real time, last pregnancy I had no morning sickness. I just kept crackers and chugs water down like crazy plus avoided being up standing for to long. There is an app for smart phones I found that tells you week by week and what to do for certain things. "My baby"
  • I agree with you! My MS is HORRIBLE but to me it lets me know that things are okay Smile  As for things to help you, for me fruit is the best to eat.  And chips or any kind of bread. I have been told that peppermints are lifesavers too. I haven't gotten any but I agree that having something hard to suck on helps alot.  GL!
