Eye color?

I think we're still waiting on eye color around here, much to my mother's chagrin. It's so hard to tell, though. DD had very dark grey eyes, but it seems like they might be starting to change to brown. My mom thinks they're hazel, green, blue, or just dark grey, depending on the day. I think she'd be happy with anything but brown (the predominant color in both my husband's and my dad's family), because then her genetics would have "won". The chances of that are pretty slim, though.

Anyone else a little confused by the color of their child's eyes? Any pressure from other family members? As if we had any control, lol.

Lauren's eyes are still very blue, her pedi thinks theyll stay blue. But our sons eyes changed a ton up until around his 1st birthday and now they're grey/green!

Yup! I have no idea what JB's eyes are. In artificial light, they look light brown with green around the rims. Sometimes outside or when we take pictures they look dark blue. Most of the time outside they look hazely green to me.

Oh yea! My FIL is dead set on C having blue eyes. He does, so far...But I've noticed that they're slightly darker than his bright blue's a few months ago. I think they'll stay blue- the darker blue though. I was secretly hoping he'd have green eyes like his Mama! Stick out tongue

Yes, DD has greyish eyes, but sometimes they look hazel or green. DH and my eyes are both brown, but MIL's eyes are hazel and my grandmother's eyes are hazel, so we think that's the color they will be.

Ian was born with grey eyes. They changed to more blueish after he was about a month old. And they started, probably at about 3 1/2 months, chaning around his pupil to a brighter blue. I think he'll stay blue.

Sorry for hijacking this post...but...Goldenleaves: so good to see you post here! Someone posted the link to your blog at one point when I'd asked about you. I've been following for the last couple of months. I just want to say, that you're an inspiration. You always have such a positive outlook on everything. I'm glad Lauren is doing so good. She's such an angel. Let me just say, if I'm ever faced with such a life changing situation as your family was, I hope I'm half the woman you are!!!

Depending on the day, yes. My husband and I have brown eyes. Mine are slightly hazel depending on what I wear. However, certain days I swear they still appear to be blue at times. But I think they're going to be hazel.

DD's eyes were dark blue for the first 3 months. Then they started turning grey/green. I have no idea what they'll end up.

I know brown is dominant but we have a lot of family members that have gotten around the brown eye gene some how so DD might too. My eyes are brown with some green, DH's eyes are green.

FIL has some weird thing about the color of her eyes. He's never said that he wants them to be a specific color but he's always asking what color we think they are now and what color we think they'll end up being.

Yup! DD was born with dark dark grey eyes ( pretty much black), now they are grey/blue with a little ring of gold around the pupil. Some days they look grey, hazel or blue. Everyone has a different opinion about the colour. I am really hoping they turn anything but brown. DD pretty has DH's hair, and I would love to see some of my colouring on her.

I am not sure what DS eye color will be. They still have some of the blue, yet they are changing to a brown or brown-green. So I have no idea what they will be.

Matthew our DS has big brown eyes..like me and most of my family, but Lilly our DD has grey/green eyes like her dad. His eyes change with the colors he wears. I hope they lighten up a bit because right now the grey is really dark.

But funny thing is my oldest DS (18yrs) had bright brown eyes growing up, and now they are a light hazel with gold & green. So they could change still.

Yep! Audrey has blue eyes, and my pedi thinks they will stay that way, but I'm not sure. Both DH and I have brown eyes. My grandparents have blue eyes, and we think DH's birth mom did as well.
