Katarina Reilly (6 lb 19 in) and Henry Charles VI (7 lns 3 oz 21 in) were born July 20, 2012. I'd love to post a pic but I have no clue how to! Anyway they were born at 36w and 1 day and went right to the nursery with perfect Apgar scores, this made me so happy! They are considered late - pre-term so it means feedings every 3 hours for a bit. The night ones are hard! Anyway their mommy had a rough time with the C section as they had to do a classical cut due to their location and safety. It was not a pleasant experience but again, they were rockstars! On discharge eve I got very sick with a complication from this type of c section. I ended up hospitalized for 7 days with the kids- thank goodness we all got care but I wanted out of there in the worst way and just wanted to feel better. My husband is amazing as he did everything during the day to care for them and is so experienced now. It was so hard being so sick to enjoy them. And I will say 8 out of 10 nurses are great, but the 2 that push the babies on you while you have a fever or are throwing up need new careers. They spent every night in the nursery - I needed my sleep! This was the plan even if I didn't get sick- and ladies I'm so glad I had the break now that I'm home up at different hours! Haha anyway as I glance over some of the posts about what to wear etc I just giggle because if it's a c section you just won't care! And the things these nurses have to do for you are mortifying and I give them credit. I recommend bringing your own comfy toilet paper and wipes! And big winged pads- these hospitals are so cheap! I also recommend buying big bags of candy for special nurses/aides that help you and one big one for the team who works in the nursery! It paid off big time! My aide gave me over 10 cases of formula. But she was so helpful to me when I felt like I was dying. Anyway I will try to check back when I can but my hands are a bit full! Our big problem now is warding off people with kids from coming- the ped. Said no way- people get so angry! Anyway best of luck to you soon to be mommies- its worth it!!! Even though like in my case it's not so easy.
PS if you didn't buy the Fisher Price Rock n Napper - RUN and get one- it is the best thing ever- even our Ped. Recommended it! They are light to move and can go anywhere. They sleep like little bugs in them!!! So much better bed than a clunky PNP!
