Which underwear after birth?

I know all of the other products to buy after birth but what type of undies would you recommend? I don't want to spend to much because I'm sure they will get destroyed. All I can think of when I add up the cost of all these supplies needed after birth and for breast feeding is how many cute clothes or diapers I could be buying the baby. This stuff is not fun and exciting!

With my boys I stocked up on the mesh panties from the hospital before I left. Super stretchy, hold pads great and don't care if they get ruined!

I like hanes underwear. I think target has a pack of 6 for $8.

I just used the hospital undies. Then you don't have to waste money on ugly underwear that you are just going to throw away.

I am a FTM, so cannot give you advice on this. I just wanted to say that I agree with you- buying this stuff is so boring and annoying! I would much rather use my money toward the LO.

Buy the high cut, almost to your boobs ones. A couple sizes bigger than you normally wear. I bought the Walmart brand the other day because they were the cheapest.

ETA: I'm having a c-section, so I guess not everyone would need the high cut ones. With DS I didn't plan on having a c-section though, so maybe still get the high ones just in case?

I just bought a pack of underwear from Target also. I'm pretty sure I got the bikini style, they were big enough to hold pads and I didn't have to worry about my underwear sticking out of all my clothes. They worked fine for me until I could wear my normal underwear again.

I used the hospital mesh panties for the first few weeks and was so grateful for them. After that I went back to my normal underwear.

I like the ribbed boyfriend underwear. They are nice and snug. Hanes and FOTL has them for like 8$ maybe. The mesh underwear from the hospital didn't work for me. The pad slides around (maybe the one size they come in was just too big for me). That being said, I have never ruined underwear with any of my deliveries. I guess it varies for each woman.

I had my mom go buy me Large bikini briefs from CVS. I was just swollen and saggy so my pre-pregnancy underwear that I wore up until the end of my pregnancy wasn't working.

I didn't need high cut because I didn't have a csection, though.

I also just wore the mesh ones in and home from the hospital.

I only wore the mesh panties the first night in the hospital then I was in my normal panties. I never had to wear maternity panties so I had my regular panties and I never ruined any. I like the Xhilaration panties at Target. They are fun and cute but still very affordable (5 for $20). My store has some different colors than I see online. I like boy shorts normally but not while wearing pads with wings. I stick to a hip or bikini cut.
