Leap pad 2 vs Inno tab 2

I'm debating getting one for Timmy for his birthday or Christmas. I'm not sure which one to go with. Does anyone have an experience with either of the first versions? Right now there are pre order only, but I'm afraid if I wait too long it will be a repeat of last year and you won't be able to buy them at all unless you pay a substantial amount from a 3rd party.

I do like that it seems like the Inno Tab has a Mickey game, where I haven't noticed if Leap Pad does. 

Does anyone know if the old game cartridges will be compatible with the 2nd ones?

    Thats good to know, thanks. I've pretty much ruled out the Leap Pad 1 or 2 because I feel like you're paying for the name and everything is pretty pricey.

    I've contemplated getting the Itouch for him too.

    We have a first gen Leap Frog, with the book, cassettes and carrying case, it was a gift from a family member, their children no longer used it.

    The books range from preschool thru 6th grade.  So, it is fantastic, the only thing is DS doesn't quite understand the concept yet...even with guidance.  So we're going to wait a little bit until we give it a try again.
