Silly outfit question

How many outfits do you go through in a day (for the baby, not yourself Smile )?  My LO typically only wears one a day and that's usually a onsie unless we're going somewhere to visit (vs the store or park, etc.) and I put her in something "special".  But, I started wondering if other people change outfits more frequently.  Before I had her I was told, "oh, you'll go through four  or five onsies a day"...but unless we have a major diaper disaster that hasn't been the case.  Again, just a silly question.

Re: Silly outfit question

  • One most days sometimes two but normally not.  Plus his pjs are just a onsie in the summer. Now burp cloths thats another story.

  • I was told the same thing! I got how many clothes at my baby shower & they were like, "Oh you'll be happy to have those clothes!" My niece & I just looked at each other b/c she knew I already had a ton of clothes for DD (she's set til she's 2!). Normally it's just one a day unless she spits up or she starts to get a little cold, then I'll put something warmer on her.
  • Usually one, but more if we have a diaper blowout or major spit up. We also change into pajamas as a bedtime routine.

  • I only change her clothes if she has a diaper leak, spits up on herself, or she gets a bath. She doesn't wear pajamas, I just put her SwaddleMe over whatever she has on. If she doesn't leak on herself and it isn't a bath day, she sometimes wears the same thing for two days straight. She HATES having her things pulled over her head, it's just easier that way :)

  • One onesie a day. We only put him a "real" outfit if we are going out in public, like to a store or appointment or family or friend's house. Sometimes we will even just let him hang out in his diaper because he is a sweatball like his daddy! We do go through bibs and burp cloths like mad though since he has some reflux.

  • Usually one a day, unless she gets cold or spits up... A lot of days she just hangs out in her diaper... she doesn't deal well with  being overheated.

  • Unless he pees, poops, or spits up a lot on himself I keep him in the same outfit.  Almost everyday at daycare he has a blowout and needs changed :)

  • 1-2 per day. I usually dress her in something that would be fine in the house or in public, so I just change her outfit if it gets messy.

Usually 1 outfit a day, unless she has a blowout or spits up.  I dress her in all her size appropriate outfits, even if we don't go out, and take pics, because I love her looking cute! Smile

All of this.  Now that she is at daycare I change her into something cooler when we get home.  The air there is on pretty cool so she wears a shirt and pants there.

  • It used to be one, barring any big messes, but DD has just started drooling a ton - like rivers - so I sometimes change her mid-day because her outfit is soaked! I tried to put a bib on her but it was annoying. I have never seen so much drool....

  • usually 3 or 4. She's a huge "spitter-upper" and is not fond of soggy outfits. I've nicknamed her both "Soggy Sophia" and "Leaky Lulu" when she is drenched.

This. So, technically two I guess. What she wears all day and whatever onesie or pjs I put on her after bath time.

  • Like everyone else..only when something happys.  It usually ends up being once a day though, sometimes 2 if she has a diaper leak or accident, but that's unusual.  She hates things over he head and since we started CDing, i usually just put her in a shirt at home (the kimono style ones) or a onesie.  She kicks all pants off, so that's a no go.  She has a blanket nearby all the time, so they get washed often and double as dribble clean uppers.  She never spits up, so we only use burp cloths when we're out.

When we go out with people though, I always put something new on her regardless of how few hours she had it on.  I change her as soon as we get home, especially if I had to do a diaper change somewhere. Germs just weird me out, I don't know. I throw on clean sweats when I get home so I do the same for her!

With DS, I did change him sometimes a couple times a day, but that was because he spit up a lot. DD rarely spits up so I just get her out of her nightie when she wakes up,diaper change and dressed for the day.

Heck, DS still has her beat on outfit changes. Of course we're fighting potty training for him right now so he often will have a mess in his shorts prompting the change.
