question about monthly cycle...

With dd I did not start getting my period until after she was 6 months.  I stopped bleeding  when ds was about 2 weeks.  Last night I started bleeding again heavy.  I was just wondering if this could be my cycle returning or that I am still just bleeding because of just having ds.

    If you're not BFing, it's possible for your cycle to start up again right away, but I think it's worth a call to your OB/Midwife, because the timing is in that grey area where it could be some post-partum complication/issue, or could be AF returning.

    If it's within 6 weeks of delivery it's considered post-partum bleeding. It's not uncommon for it to stop and re-start within those 6 weeks.

    Ok, great thanks!  I am EBF so that is why I was confused.  Sorry I should have mentioned that in the other post.  It just came back very heavy and I was a bit worried.

    You should be fine. Just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't continue for months on end. More than likely it won't but it's good to be cautious.

    Needless to say, after my first, the bleeding was heavy and irregular for months. I won't get into details. I don't want to scare anyone or make them worry unnecessarily. It can lead to anemia though so just check with your doctor if you're unsure later on.
