Oliver James decided to make his appearance 2 weeks early. We were pretty much ready.... Luckily our bags were packed including one for DD for wherever we had to take her. Monday the 23rd I woke up feeling wet...oh well, probably just discharge. Made breakfast and felt like I was peeing a bit. I still didn't think much of it-obviously I was in denial. I told DH about it and he asked if I wanted to go to get checked out. I said no, since I was feeling fine, we would see later if anything came of it. I took DD on a play date and just went about my normal Monday routine-no contractions, feeling great.

Came home for a late lunch and DH decided to come home from work and just go to the hospital to be sure. I agreed though I didn't even get to finish my lunch since DH was starting to freak out and rushed us out the door. Got checked at the hospital-three times-since the first was inconclusive. They sent down the swab to the lab and it came back that I was indeed leaking fluid from above-like a slow drip rather than a gush. I was admitted right then and there at about 3. They gave me pitocin at about 5:45 since I wasn't having any contractions. I went from a 1 cm to 4 cm dilation in 10 minutes and they lowered my pitocin to let "my body do it on it's own". It was taking too long to progress so they turned it back up and I was given an epidural when I got to 5cm...it was SO intense. The epidural was great and painless. I started to push around midnight and at 12:14 am on Tuesday, July 24th my little Oliver James was born after 8 pushes.
