My dad is retiring in a few weeks and DH's grandparents are celebrating their 50th anniversary soon too. How much would you give as a monetary gift? I was thinking 80-100, is this to much? or not enough? We normally don't give money for anniversaries but this is a big one and there will be a big party so we will this time.

Re: NBR- Anniversary/Retirement gift question
I think $100 seems like a good amount.
I personally probably would give something a bit more personal though. I'm sure they would appreciate that more. Grandparents always like to get things from their grandchildren. And if you do give your father cash it would probably seem more respectable if you gave him a note like "here's some cash to start a new hobby"or "play some golf on us".
I just agree with pps. I think giving actual money is a little weird for lack of a better word. I think a nice sentimental gift would be better and more meaningful.
I just bought DH's brother and fianc?e their wedding gift yesterday. We debated giving money, but decided to get them something off thir registry instead.
