Seriously right now?! T.T (sad rant)NBR

So my cat (Mudkip) has been actuing super weird lately. she's eating a whole bunch, Having super liquidy poops, throwing up all the time. losing weight. ect... Well we call around to a few vets because we wouldnt be able to take her in till tuesday and we wanted to get a general idea of what to expect when we went. after various questions they all said that they think she has lukemia. T.T the first doc said it and i got alittle teary but i was ok. the second doc said it and i was having to take deep breaths, and the third one said it and i just burst into tears. all of them said it is something we can get taken car of but still! She's my furry baby and i hate that she's not feeling well and i feel HORRIBLE! Of course my husbands cat is totally kosher she's a fat little girl who could out jump some people in the olympics.

Anyone have any advice or anything? I really REALLY REALLY wish i could have a glass of wine right now *sigh*

  • Awe, I am sorry your furrbaby isn't feeling well. I get very upset with my furrbabies are sick. But she will make it right? I say you give her some extra lovin' and get yourself a piece of cake. Cake makes everything better. :)

I'm sorry you're dealing with this.  Just know that obviously it's nothing that you did/didn't do.  You're doing everything you can for her.  I hope she's feeling better soon!

  • I 110% understand how you feel. Last week we had to have our dogs eyeball removed. She had a cancerous tumor. Luckily it did not affect any of the surrounding tissue. My thoughts are with u and ur furbaby (hugs)

  • I'm so sorry. There's really not much you can do, except feed your kitty a healthy diet, take her to the vet often, and give her lots of love. You may want to separate the two cats, if you said your husband's cat isn't infected. It is spread from cat to cat.

My first kitty had leukemia, and it was just heartbreaking. Best wishes to you guys.

  • I am so sorry to hear this. I love my cat to death - I'd do anything for her.

The best advice I can give is as a pp said keep the cats separated, if you can get dh's kitty checked too. Id also advise, though it will be upsetting more than likely, to fo research on kitty leukimia. It's good to know what you're up against rather than not knowing. And, I won't lie, the research I've done on kitty leukemia isn't pretty, from costs to the different commitments.

I will say though it's no reason to have your furrbaby put down. My cat is epileptic and most people would have them put down, but if it's the most rewarding thing I've ever done. A long process, but I like to think she thanks me every day. I know I'd die if anything happened to her.

If you need anyone to talk to, you can send me a message.

  • Thank you all for your support i really appriceat it and i feel a little better reading everyones comments. :) And this is why i love you ladies. Even if it's furbabies you're still there for them <3

There are several other things it easily be. Until she's tested, you won't know.

How old is she? Is she an indoor or outdoor cat? How long have the two cats been living together? Is she drinking more than normal? Has she ever been vaccinated for feline leukemia (which is standard at most vets) and if so, when was the last time?
