  Heartburn.

  I had sharp pains in my upper tummy, near my ribcage with my first. Went to the hospital, because it hurt so bad, and I was freaking out to be told, "You have heartburn." Boy did I feel silly.

  Ya, I agree, either heartburn or gas.... with baby pushing on your organs, normal pains end up in weird places... try drinking a small glass of water with a teaspoon of baking soda, should clear it up pronto. I swear by baking soda water for any tummy problems (I've had them since highschool... to the point of tears and sick days)

  This one is like a shooting pain from my pelvic bone up to my ribcage. Doesnt feel like the heartburn I normally have. Now my utuerus (at my belly button) is still sore.

  I had this a few weeks back. I was freaking out. It started earlier in my preg, but it got really bad. I eventually went to the hospital and they did an u/s and then told me nothing was wrong..... except gas and possibly muscle pain. I started trying to stay away from gassy foods and take anti gas/antacids and it's much better, still happens a little though. Sounds weird, but it helps to put some pressure on the area to get the gas moving. Like I do that one yoga pose where you stretch your arms our while on your knees or lay on my ball, but not where baby is.

  Also your large intestine is in that area. that is why the pain is shooting how it is. Google anatomy of the intestines and you will see that the pain will follow the large intestine and then travel up from there.

  I went to the hospital on Monday because of crippling sharp pain in my abdomen.  Turns out it was a turd.  Went to the ER to be told I needed to take a dump.  =/

   LOL!!!! Thanks for being so candid! You just gave DH and I quite the laugh! (only because the other night I went to the ER for bad cramping and it was a UTI) so you made me feel better!
